Sahko's performances in a back 6 at Palace have blinded people to his performances in a back 2 or 3 for us, and they have forgotten his injury record.
Remember when Sam Allardyce made Lamine Kone look like Baresi? Not looked the same under Moyes has he?
=======
Spot on.
Sakho doesn't want to be depth.
When he was depth at PSG he threw his toys out for a move.
When he was depth under Rodgers he threw his toys out and didn't even sit on the bench for the derby.
Let's just pretend he would have been happy being depth though, and would have stayed fit, not caused a problem and we would be doing better than 3rd

At the end of last season just after he got banned you were singing his praises as much as anyone else for the form he was in.

Not sure that's true but he was in good form.

He's always been injury prone.
One of the things his fanboys miss.
He never seems to play enough games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fan boys. What a pathetic comment. Anyone that doesn't think we'd have been better off this season with him in the squad is deluded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think we would be better off having a player in the squad who undermines the manager and the club repeatedly.
but then again, I may be experiencing the same delusions as the management and ownership
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then you bring someone in to replace him or you manage the situation. You don't make us weaker, which is what has happened.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a completely different conversation though. Having extra depth at CB is nothing to do with claiming that we'd have been better off with Sakho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course it is. The extra depth comes from sakho. If you know that he isn't going to play again then you bring in a replacement. If you can't get a replacement that you want, then you keep Sakho and work with him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's really not.
Buying an extra CB had nothing to do with this.
The conversation is whether the club is better off with players who flaunt the rules and undermine the manager. I don't see how that can be the case, let alone how it makes people delusional

------------
Not at any cost. There's limits to this and if Sakho surpassed these limits then he had to go.
I'd like to think the club isn't stupid. If Sakho had to go then he had to go. Nobody knows exactly why he left but the club isn't stupid and wouldn't send him out unless there was no amicable solution possible.
I'm sure the club would have liked for him to stay and contribute but for some reason this could not happen. The moment you start letting one player do whatever they want then you lose all the players.

The conversation is about whether we would be a better team with a better CB availabe. We have a better CB available and shipped him out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's not! You're shifting the goal posts. It's not about a better CB at all. You clearly stated that it's about Sakho. Only Sakho,
His quality is irrelevant if his attitude stinks. Having a sulky, disruptive player undermining the club does not make a team stronger

Let's talk at the end of the season when we're fifth and ask if a better quality CB being available would have made a difference
======
All ifs and buts.
If he had stayed his poor attitude could have rippled across the team and destabilised us and we'd be 8th again.
The thing about ifs and buts is that there's more than one possible outcome. You can't be sure what would have happened if he'd stayed. Perhaps his exit is what contributer our good run of form which has left us in the hunt for top 4. All ifs and buts.
The point is we could be doing better or worse so assuming we'd be better off with Sakho is just that, an assumption.
What are you talking about. I said right from the start that if klopp wanted him gone, then fine as long as a replacement was brought in. And Sakho was all those things last year and was in the best form of all our CB.
His quality isn't irrelevant in our situation.
------------
No, right from the start your argument is that no matter his deficiencies, the club would be better off having him in the squad and anyone who thinks otherwise (management and ownership included you'd have to assume) is deluded. That's nonsense tbh.
Bringing in replacements or trying to fix his attitude was secondary. That's not what I replied to. That's a separate discussion that you keep jumping back to.
Focus on the original comment.
Do you really think that keeping a disruptive influence who undermines the club, irrespective of footballing talent, makes us better off?

He's a popular member of the squad and his perceived attitude wasn't being questioned last season. He was late a couple of times and missed a physio session by most accounts. That isn't something thatbspreads through squad and causes issues.
Ultimately, we'd be better off with him in the squad because he is probably our second best CB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The u23 boss was in high praise of Sakho attitude despite being dumped with no clear future.
Maureen wanted to get rid of Rojo and there was personal differences but when United had a defensive crisis no man was bigger than the club and he recalled him and he has been great for them pre injury.
Greatteams is spot on. Get rid of Sakho if you like but make sure you have equal if not better cover. Its cost us big time this season.
We aren't getting rid of Sakho if he has a serious knee injury.
Fat Sam will pack him back to us early doors..
This is why his being on the Palace bench was idiocy, you never know what will happen next.

We could probably still sell him with this injury but will be a cut price figure of £15m. Baring in mind he has 2 years left on his contract he will be worth that at end of 2017/18 season anyway.
