At the time when we let Toure go on and the whole Sakho thing was going on, I remember thinking that I hope we replace them as I thought they were our best CB's last year... But we didn't and have paid for these poor decisions!

Yes we got Matip, but we needed to sign 2 quality CB's in reality and I a lot of us saw this last year!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've paid for the poor decisions?

More points than last year.
In a CL position.

Also, what would Kolo have done? Can't even get in the Celtic team. Hardly going to get in our lineup
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you think the Club got it spot in then?

And having Lucas and Klavan fighting for 3rd CB spot is a good springboard for a better future?

Mane, Coutinho and Firmino are the reasons why we are where we are!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea I think the club was right in getting rid of Sakho. No one is bigger than the club and can set their own rules.

Maybe Kolos influence would've been good around the club. I'm not sure if we offered him a contract or if he wanted to go elsewhere for playing time, so I can't beat the club with that stick

Btw, your second sentence is just nonsense. I challenge you to find one person on the planet, just one, who thinks that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't fooking say my opinion is nonsense!!

And no footballer is bigger than the club, but look at Yaya Toure!

He was frozen out because of a bad attitude, but then he got his head down and apologised and was forgiven!

Why couldn't of we done the same? Or at least proper replaced him!

Only need to look at goals scored and conceded to see where the issue is

Not according to Manfrom

People have unrealistic expectations then blame the club, manager, players, kit man, tea lady for not matching them.

Look at yourselves.

Unrealistic expectations?

My cup is usually half full, however as a fan and a follower of football I point out what I see!

Klopp had months to prepare for Mane going to the ACON, but failed miserably.

Im not the only one who thought we would struggle defensively this season and surprise we have!

Our saving grace this season is that City, United and Arsenal have been equally as inconsistent and we are going to have to solve the issues which we didn't address last summer this summer and a lot of that will depend on if we finish in the top 4 or not?

I hope that we do, as we have just as much chance as the rest of the CL stragglers

People have unrealistic expectations

--------------

My expectations for this season were fifth. I believe that we would exceed those expectations if we had kept Sakho, who according to the coaches at under 23 level, was a true professional during his months with them. This is where the whole management side comes into it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is why I compared the Yaya Toure situation! He knuckled down and apologized and has came back in and done a job...

And did Yaya seem bigger than the club after??

Look at you get all angry

I didn't say your opinion was nonsense. I said the sentence:

"And having Lucas and Klavan fighting for 3rd CB spot is a good springboard for a better future?"

is nonsense because no one anywhere, ever has said that.

Unless you are implying that this in in fact your opinion, in which case I would say that yes, your opinion in this case would be nonsense

Now I am accused of what? Saying the defense is fine and the strikeforce is the probelm

Just you keep on making up these scenarios and trying to stick them on me

We are 3rd, have been in the top 4 virtually all season, and still have every chance of finishing in the top 4.

Leave the autopsy until the body has been found.

People are very happy to discuss things they think they are being proved right on but don't often mention things they are being proved wrong on.

Unless we finish a season with 114 points we could always have done better.

Gerrard quotes:

"My teams will be physical. I see that we need that more. It is important you channel it in the right way,"

"As a player I got many, many tackles wrong and went over the top a few times and I had to come out and apologise and that is not something I want to put into young players at all but you have to prepare them for the top and the top level is physical and demanding.

"It is not just about tackles and competing. I hate watching footballers and football when there is no physical side and they don't compete.

"There is a showboating mentality throughout academies now and a lot of kids who play the game think they have to do 10 lollipops or Cruyff turns to stand out. We all love a bit of skill and talent but the other side of the game is huge, it is massive.

"Too many try to model themselves on players like Ronaldo when you have to look at yourself and say, 'What are my strengths and how can I improve my weaknesses?'"

"Also, 1 man's a bit of an oddball. In my team his natural position would be left back. Left back in the dressing room"

Interesting stuff. One question......what's a lolipop?
