With ARE as his sidekick. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen ARE's press release on yesterday's events. Strange

"If a player deserves to move on to bigger things, like Barcelona, it should almost be like: 'Thank you for everything, you've done brilliantly, now on your way.'"

I wonder if he will take this stance when a host of clubs swoop on spurs to take their players. Tw@t.

Actually just read his article. Best bit is this:-

If a player deserves to move on to bigger things, like Barcelona, it should almost be like: 'Thank you for everything, you've done brilliantly, now on your way.'"

He's basically suggesting that we should have just bent over and let him go the second Barca came calling. What a fecking loser

I had smoked duck, following by a Guinea Fowl main, finished off with some lemon polenta cake.

Quite possibly the best meal I've ever had. At £310 for four of us, I would hope so

Rejecting the bid is great news.

Keeping Coutinho doesn't make for a great summer transfer window though. We need a couple more quality players on top of what we have. A new CB is a must.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one has said it will.

However everyone has been moaning that coutinho was on his way, FSG have betrayed and lied to us, that they were asset stripping us all along

blah blah blah.

I maintain that FSG have been excellent in this window, keeping Cout and making close to £200m available, beyond doing that there is nothing they are responsible for.

If you want to complain that we chased the wrong targets, see klopp and the transfer comittee

if you want to believe we went the wrong way about aquiring VVD, despite it being common practice and southamptons tapping up complaints seeming to be the way they inflate value / retain players. then see whoever met him/whoever is in charge of aquisitions.

When the window ends, it becomes FSGs opportunity to address those issues again, if they dont think we adequately pursued the players heads will roll. there is no point however, sacking their appointed staff midway through the busiest period.

So again, its childish to criticise FSG over imagined slights, and when we see proof that they are keeping their word, gloss over it so we can continue to be dismissive of them.

credit where it is due perhaps

Is it true about the stupid clauses in the contract from Barca? Yet they wanted every penny up front from PSG.

No kidding mate and it will happen soon then we'll know what his intention is here.

I've never abused anyone online (except on here ) but I'd take time to say something to him if he says any different in future.

If he's not been 'brown enveloped' then he should never change this opinion.

Firstly, I gave FSG credit in the first line of my post.

Secondly, the window isn't shut yet. I'm hoping they are as good as their word in terms of keeping the player, but the fact is that under their tenure we have sold our best players, which has effected performances on the pitch.

Come the end of the window I hope to keep Coutinho. Rejecting this third bid strengthens this belief. However, it wouldn't be a massive shock if we sold.

I'm neither a wrist slitter or a happy clapping signed up member of the ticket- boo camp. Unfortunately the club have ballsed up many a transfer window under our American owners. Hopefully this will not be another.

Unlike yourself, I will refrain from judging the summer window it until it shuts.

We've only really sold Torres and Suarez under them haven't we? We signed Suarez with the Torres money so that worked out, lost £15m on Carroll so made a net profit plus a better player and nearly won the league. So they did well there. With Suarez I think they caved in due to his actions on the pitch.

Also Suarez could have went to court after we rejected the Arsenal bid. Perhaps he was given assurances that he could go after a certain amount if time but only to a foreign club. We will never know I guess.

More obvious signs of our impending relegation struggle as we make 5 changes and win with a clean sheet to boot.

One game only but for a debut in our defence, Robertson did better than I expected. Even TAA is better than I expected so far, as are Solanke, Gomez and Moreno, who needs to improve further.

Very interesting. Robertson has me excited, I hope he can cement this. That's one problem we've had for about a decade
