I think Chelsea can do one over Barca.

Porto's a great draw considering some of the other side's we could've had. Shortish trip too.

Can't believe the last two pens given against us. How often do you see players dragged down in the box at a corner with nothing given? It's the inconsistency that annoys me.

Anyone know much about Porto then?

Quick read around says they score lots and concede lots, a bit like us then.

Probably suits us in that case, I’d be surprised if their attack is better than ours though so hopefully we outscore they.

Just a case of doing a job away in the first leg and then ramping it up in the first 30 mins at Anfield as we have seen previously.

Both their full backs are highly rated, Telles and Pereira.

They rotate their keepers between Casillas and a Portuguese fella.

Aboubakar is the big goal threat, 20 in 22 games this season. Brahimi can do a bit with the ball.

They have a fair bit of experience in the squad.

Yeah...Telles is very highly rated.

There's also Hector Herrera...who is probably one of the most underrated players in Europe imo.

Is Herrera the butt ugly Mexican we were linked with around the time we were looking at Salah?

I think the BBC do one just because the BBC are really big in Africa.

The tentacles of empire are far reaching.

no doubt someone will do a link between this and slavery as its attempting to place a value on people from africa

Has Mane been a little disappointing this season or is it me?

Perhaps he's just been massively overshadowed by Salah.

Still good, obviously, but not as effective as last season.

Been stop start for Mane with suspension and injury. The criticism for not squaring the ball he has received has been embarrassing. Mane is still one of first names in the team sheet.

Can't compare to Salah as Salah has outdone many ex Liverpool players in the PL era.

Think the criticism is more down to the fact we had never seen that from him before.

Let’s be honest, if it had been Sturridge in that position, he could have had 10 men over in a shooting position and wouldn’t have passed , and everybody would just say typical Sturridge.

I think there is a bit of frustration there on his part, injury, suspension, rotation seeing his mate start and score every game.

Don’t think his form has been at a lower level however and still our most important player imo. Just hope he stays fit.

I haven't seen the Mane incident and wasn't referring to that particularly, and frankly I'm not fussed if a player makes an error in an game, it happens to everybody.

We should have put that BS away easily, Lovren lost us the 3 points not Mane (selection was also questionable).

It probably has been due to the stop start season, he's still excellent at his best but far less consistent than last season.

Other good thing is that we don't rely on any one player anymore.

Coutinho and Firmino will both start tomorrow, other than that you can never be sure who will play. I hope Lallana gets a start. Probably one of my favourite players to watch.

Even Studge set up Mane midweek. Even Sturridge!!!!!

It's just a sh!t footballing decision and you're taught not to do that when you're about six.

But it happens, it's all well and good that he's been trained on it since he's about six but it's a Merseyside derby, he's had a frustrating season, has netted the winner in last year's derby (at Goodison) and felt he could score.

I'm not going to hold it against somebody when it's a split second decision under huge pressure.

Sure Lovren just made an error in a game...

Fair comment.

Difference is that Lovren does it time and time again.

And to be fair I didn't slate Lovren there, just said he lost us the game. Which he did by giving the referee a chance to award the penalty.

Don’t see how you can absolve Mane of guilt and then blame Lovren.

Mane 100% should have squared the ball instead of taking the shot. He had 2 team mates free in the middle and going in at 2-0 the games dead.

It’s questionable that it was even a penalty.

We win together, draw together and lose together, if your going to play the blame game then lay the blame at everyone’s mistakes and not just one.
