I don't see much difference to the usual content of this thread

Good weekend all? So boring when we don't play.

Spurs have failed to win 6 of their last 11 games with three of those coming against Newport and Rochdale.

I'm unconvinced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They definitely have more defensive issues this season than in recent seasons.

The loss of Walker and Toby being injured (or his contract wrangle) have made them less solid. Also Wanyama injury/form has affected the protection.

Add those to them still being primarily reliant on Kane for goals, and it has made them less likely to win games.

You do feel Spurs are a Kane injury away from a spectacular collapse.

posted on 19/2/18

So they're unbeaten in 11 games?

Fortunately for them he is rarely injured. He is bit like Suarez in that regard, I can't remember him ever missing a game for us through injury off the top of my head. Some players are extremely fit and don't pick up the niggles that most players do, that or they are able to play through them.

Kane is injured every August.

Different players.

Wanyama would be perfect for us.

Klopp doesn't use defensive midfielders.

I dont think he would myself. He really isn't that good a passer of the ball and we need that in our deeper positions to help with quick transitions.

Toni Kroos.

That would be nice. Thiago and Verratti too.

I'll be interested to see who we buy at CM actually. All be a lot simpler if Can just signed but maybe we'll get some real quality.

I was being sarcastic but I'll bite.

Wijnaldum plays the same role as Bender did.

I’d go for Fabinho from Monaco, looked quality for them last season.

Plus it’s another Brazilian for bobby to play with.

What? Bender was very much someone that sat. Wij certainly doesn't do that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please explain me to Wijnaldum's role in the current setup.

Define the current set up? Are you saying that his role is as a DM that just sits and protects the back four?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that wasn't Bender's style of play either.

Bender was sort of like a roaming tackler. He was all over the midfield putting in tackles and releasing the ball to attackers. He never 'sat'.
Infact it's well known that Gundogan was the one that used to drop deep and collect the ball from the defence.
