I can but I'm not. Everyone said they were thoroughly nice though. They weren't lining people up against walls.

When the tories struggle they go to war and I can't think of a single reason the Falklands are our anyway really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that pesky Tory prime minister Tony Blair took us into the Gulf war......
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Great point except.... it's not. No one is saying no one else goes to war.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point is that it doesn’t really matter who’s in power, if it suits their agenda, they’ll do it.

I’ve never voted conservative, so have no interest in defending anything they do. I just don’t think the Falklands is the right subject to beat them with.

In terms of economic principles he was a conservative.

Just center right rather than far right
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But we’re not talking about economics 👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then you don't understand politics, the economic agenda for any given government drives all policy.

It doesn't matter what name the party carries, if they are economically aligned to the right, left or center they will follow the same policies as other aligned governments.

I. E. Blair was a neoliberalist, like thatcher, like major, like Cameron, like may.

It's been so long since we had an opposing view economically people think it's some foreign principle, despite our country being rebuilt by socialism following the second world War in half the time its taken these Tories so far and our greatest institution being socialism at work: The NHS, envy of the world and now copied in many countries.

Now parties are loosely aligned in one given direction which is why thatcher famously said Tony Blair was her greatest achievement, she forced labour away from its working class socialist roots to a banker/London centric right of center tory "lite"

Perhaps corbyn won't win an election, but he's helped pull the country back from a US style no alternative to right wing policies two party system and has opened up the debate

And their public transport is way better than ours.

Pretty depressing. I don't think public ownership is the answer though as it'll be even more inefficient, and cost the same but you pay in a different way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course public ownership is the answer, just like it is everywhere else in Europe where it's fantastic.

We already pay for the carriages, rails, stations, tunnels and bridges.

The only thing the franchises pay is staff wages to collect the fares and drive the trains. Then they scoop huge dividends off the top.

Look at water companies is, if we ran them publicly with the same staff, giving the same service but without shareholders, every household in the uk would save £100 a year on their bill!

Shareholders have no place with essential public services, everything else should work with the free market
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And who sold it all off?

That bad aids riddled old slllllllllllaaaaaaaaggggggg!

In a bit Maggie you dog, hope it’s hot down there, 4 year anniversary in a few weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A tad hypocritical when you get arsey at me for telling you to drop dead there KLS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t plague the poorest communities of this country and prop up a war where British service men lossed they’re lives to stay in power.

Plus I’ve never actually wished death upon the old hound, I just celebrated her death.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which war was that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I assume KLS is on about the Falklands...

Not sure protecting British citizens is a bad thing...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When the argues where acting up she could’ve sent an air craft carrier and a battle ship to sit in between and nothing would’ve happened, instead she left it and played the let’s all stand together sh!te.

It doesn’t matter why they are ours, they are and we have a duty to defend them as long as the people who inhabit them want to remain under British rule. In 1977 Callaghan sent a navel task force to the islands after a group of Argentinian scientists landed on the island and prevented a war.

Thatcher could’ve done the same on the lead up to the falklands but she didn’t.

You are missing the point!

Callaghan sent a task force there to stop it before it happened, thatcher could have done the same but didn’t.

She let the invasion happen knowing that a war that we couldn’t lose would keep her in power.

I won’t even get started on her involvement in the cover up of hillsbrough.

Decided there wasn’t enough players so have them the week off.

Coaching staff have still gone though

Absolutely scandalous.

Apparently the only senior players not on international duty are Ward, Karius, Moreno, Matip, Clyne, Milner and Ings. Not even enough to get a decent game of five a side.

All the best youth players are also playing youth internationals this week so Klopp couldn't even fill out the squad with them!

Google the Overton Window then.

I like IRU's posts, they might be a bit verbose but they're always well argued.
