Had we beaten City we'd have a better chance

If somebody had said me to at the start of the season that 8 games in we'd have 6 wins and 2 draws, going away to Chelsea and Spurs (who hammered us there last season) and home to City, having won 1 and lost 1 in the CL against PSG at home and Napoli away I'd have taken that immediately.

The results have been fine, it's the performances that are worrying me.

It's just because it was the most recent games, sort of how City peeps are prob a lil upset they drew against us given they had a penalty in last 5 mins.

I'm chuffed, just hope we don't get any bloody injuries

Out of the cup, beat in the CL and 2 fairly limp draws in the prem and people are fine with this and even pleased?

We need to be setting our standards higher.

Just the end of a brutal run included 6 games against high quality CL standard teams. Are City down atm because they've had the same results.

I responded to KLS's post of how he was 'quite pelased' with our recent form, so of course I am looking at the last few matches rather than the whole season.

It would be quite daft to use the whole season as a barometer in a discussion about the last few matches.

We've exactly the same results as city bar the league cup. Id argue we've had harder fixtures. Really dont see a problem myself.

Not in this chain you didn't. Your responded to "the results have been fine, it's the perfomances that are worrying". The results have been fine.

We exited the league cup to a Premier league top team with a changed side and are level on points with at City and Chelsea the top.

F all to be concerned about at this juncture imo. Especially when you factor in who we've played.

Beat the bottom 14 teams home and away and that's 84 points. A couple of wins/draws against the rest of the top six and you're looking at a 90+ points total which is normally enough to win the league...

Yes, beating our rivals helps but dispatching the crap teams in the league will have us up there and challenging come May.
