If he scored goals consistently he wouldnt have bombed so badly in Germany and wed be keeping him.

Yeah the Wolfsburg loan sounded bad but I read up on it a little and understood their manager was sacked, and when the new one came in mid-season he was shunted on the wing. Not to excuse him, but it's hard to judge that loan without watching or know what happened each game.

He's not good enough for us but I'd rather have him on the bench between now and May than Brewster who hasn't played football in a year or a 17 year old Bobby Duncan.

We won't sign a striker this window but I'd expect that to be our priority in the summer.

I will say one more thing actually.

The biggest problem facing society is intolerance of other people and their viewpoints. We're all guilty of it, it's sad that people can't just sit in a pub, disagree on points without insulting eachother. The joys of internet forums.

Fred, with a 50% tax rate you wouldnt pay anywhere near half, to hit that taxrate would only be the earnings paid above 100k, a year (so you have already had 100k at 0%, 20% and 40% respectively, with 12% and then 2% ni.)

If you are earning above that amount i would suggest you got yourself an accountant. While i worked as one the highest nominal tax rate i ever saw (combined tax and ni) was 24% of earnings.

Thats less than ANYONE on PAYE.

the fact remains that the top 5% earn over 90% of the wages paid in this country and pay around 35% of the income tax (or they did 2-3 years ago, i havent kept up with the figures since i left the industry)

That is never fair, top rate tax bands are changed to address the amount that people can mitigate

Short of overhauling the whole system thats the only method that could work to have 90% of the wages pay 90% of the tax (and net the government an extra 50bn to clear the deficit)
