Margaret is what Maregas mates call him btw. Nice guy!

Yeah we're doing great. Only grumble for me is that our offside trap looks shiiiiiiiiiit at the moment.
Porto would have scored plenty more over two legs but Margaret can't finish his dinner. Hazard ripped it open too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We play such a high-line, I'm surprised we've not been more exposed this year already to be honest - Virgil and Matip practically spend half the game past the halfway line
The midfield left us exposed in that first half.
Tbh, I think VAR messes with the minds of defenders trying to play offside given that the linesmen have been told not to flag unless they are certain the attacker is offside.
Would certainly make me feel less confident in stepping up trying to set the trap if the flag doesn't go up immediately.
It should be the opposite to be honest, they should feel more confident carrying on the play instead of standing still to appeal. Will take time to adjust through

He is the spit of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, just without the finishing ability.
It's so funny how all United fans sole concentration for the rest of the season is hoping we don't win anything.
It's their saving grace. Bless.
our newcastle game has been moved from sunday to saturday, means we play before city again
Matip has been leaving to big a gap between him and VVD, he was screaming at him last night and that’s the reason Southampton scored!

Marega was a real handful to be fair. Good thing he can't shoot.
Once VVD figured that out, he bossed him.
His movement is great, was first leg too, but he has awful composure.
Bit of Titi Camara about him.

The goal at Southampton he had to move across to track the runner. Last night he was slightly more at fault but if TAA is going out to stop the cross, and they have runners from deep attacking the near post then everyone has to tuck inside one unless those runners are tracked, which they weren't. Not much Matip can do to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not Matip's biggest fan, he has a touch of the Rio Ferdinand doozyness about him but he has been good this season. Against Southampton he did the right thing, everybody had to move over a position, which is why VVD also moved into Matip's position. This is what defenders are told to do from a young age.
Yeah Matip has been excellent, would be a shame if he was dropped for Gomez but I suspect he won't be, doubt Klopp would tinker too much at this stage of the season

agreed, probably not the best to try and get him back into the team while the defence is quite settled, though if somethings happens to matip hes the obvious replacement over lovren
All of our centre backs have had excellent seasons.
Gomez was brilliant until he got injured and Matip has had his best run of games since he joined. Lovren has been good when he has played too.
