compare our squad to any team in the league and it pretty darn good, however you look at city and it suddenly doesnt look as good, they go from excellent player to excellent player if someones injured, for us its an excellent player to a fairly good player

or im just waffling waiting for the day to end

i wasnt being serious toor, that said looks like klopp is putting faith that the youth players will make the step up to fill a spot should someone get injured

Yes but they have to keep changing their squad chunks at a time every three or four seasons, whereas we're buying young players who are growing together. This current side will last years.

That is how you attempt to compete with a club who spend billions.

Personally I prefer that approach although I don't have the same outlook many have towards City fir their approach.

If Klopp’s confident that someone will make the step up, then fine. But I don’t see a problem with anyone suggesting we need to bring in established back up, the main position being across the front three. I don’t think Shaq is good enough, and I don’t think Klopp does either, judging by his lack of game time. Origi seems to be more of an impact player, certainly not good enough to cover a long term injury. Ox I do rate, but there are big fitness concerns with him. Beyond that, it’s the youngsters.

It’s got to be preferable to build gradually, one or two signings a season, now that we have a solid foundation.

Unless I've counted wrongly (quite possible) we have 15 foreigners in the squad so room for two more unless they're U21.

I know it's natural to compare to City but I also think it's unrealistic. Either way they're still susceptible to injuries like everyone else. Their back up keeper is rammal. Laporte us incredibly important to them as is Sterling and Aguero. They're light at LB like us considering they can't get Mendy on the pitch.

Fact is they're arguably the best team in Prem history. We've dropped point with all our players and dropped points without them.

Perception is funny too. If we'd spent £50m less last summer and spent it this somehow I think some would be happier and yet the result is the same.

I think we'll sign someone anyway but when I don't know. As a club we're more active than most in the January window.

I doubt anyone wants 50mil spent for no good reason(aside from idiots, though thats probably who you are talking about), I imagine most wouldn't be happy if we spent 50mil on a leftback, but they would be if we got someone to rotate with the front 3.

just checked and over the last five years our net spend is 22mil a season, compared to cities 116mil ridiculous

What happens if salah, firmino or mane get an acl or break a leg? No chance we get anywhere near city or lucky number seven! 100% we need more back up in that area.

Imagine we could have rested firmino for a couple of games when he had that mid season loss of form? We might've won the league.

It's not like people want more midfield options or are demanding 2 extra full backs of equal quality to what city have. We are light as feck as soon as you get passed our first choice 3. Origi might push on and give us what we need but no chance the youngsters are going to bridge that gap.

Imagine we had different players and didn't bring in Origi and Shaqiri, we might not have won the CL.

I still think we will make signings but even if we don't it won't be the end of the world. We still should be better than last season.

The club can’t be criticised in anyway shape or form for spending in my opinion, we aren’t city.

We don’t have an owner who is pumping in 100’s of millions through dodgy sponsorships.

The club is run properly.

Heya Trannies, been trying to catch up on the posts just now.

RITH jnr hasn't had his op yet, been ten days since he was supposed to have it, they referred him to another consultant who ordered a CT scan before making his final diagnosis. This pillock said in examination it didn't "feel" like a tumour and that's why he ordered the scan and xray which just delayed it.

CT scan showed that it is a tumour and that it has affected the lymph nodes in his lungs and abdomen too.

He went on to say that he will schedule surgery for this week coming when they'll also put in the central line for chemotherapy and ease of blood testing. Jnr looked straight back at him when he said that, which was good because if he'd have looked left or right to me or his mum we probably wouldn't have been able to hold it together.
Then this specialist said that he would normally carry out the surgery but he's away, while the other guy that would take over is also away.

I was shaking my head in disbelief at this point that his holiday take precedence after he'd already delayed it.

The next day the consultants office called and said that he would in the end do it and has cancelled his holiday.

Jnrs sister is being sent away to her nans for the summer as when chemotherapy starts we just don't know what effect it will have.

So he's under the knife on Thursday then we wait for them to analyse and figure out what combination of toxins are needed to kill the facking things.

Just looking at him I think that every second of every day these mutated cells are growing in him, when he catches me looking at him he says "What?! Stop looking at me" he's acting pretty normal, usual 13yr old attitude. Keeping him busy with board games and his mates keeping him entertained, although they will be off on holidays theyve pledged to come around when possible. taking him and a couple of them to a theme park in the coming days before his op.

Looks like a rough ride coming up for him, don't think he grasps the enormity of the challenge and although his mum and I don't see eye to eye doesn't need to be said that we get through it together.

Minor things like me remodelling of his bedroom and plenty of flexible time off work. Thankfully I have an understanding management team and a good amount of service and kudos earned.

Don't think I'll be participating much in any shenanigans on here. Will be in touch with some updates as he hopefully begins to take up the fight to get better.
