Yesterday burnley got a corner from an offside position.

If linos arent meant to flag if they are "unsure" then var should be rolling that back for a free kick, not letting them have a goal scoring corner opportunity

Im not a big fan of this half assed balls, the ref should be there to keep the game flowing, the head ref should be in the VAR suite overturning wrong decisions etc.

...................

Arsenal did last week too when Aubameyang was offside

Anyway, how embarrassing are those diving barsterds at Tottenham ?, Alli and Kane do it so often they should be getting booked retrospectively or something, Kane tried to con a penalty last week too

Referees will flag if they think it's offside in corner situations, just not goalscoring situations. VAR cannot be used for corner situations.

The reffing was shocking all round in the NLD. Kane and Alli both got away without a booking for dives, Winks should have been sent off for the clash with Sokratis, Xhaka didn't get booked until his 7th foul

It was Martin Twatkinson, what did you expect?

Standard of refereeing in the league seems to be getting worse every year.

Dunno if im explaining myself well:

They were offside, it was not flagged for, the burnley player went on to shoot, which went out for a corner.

He was offside, so it should have been pulled back to the free kick, had he scored VAR would have intervened..

Instead it wasnt used BECAUSE they didnt score, which led to them being given a corner, a decent goalscoring opportunity.

Under the old system the lino might well have flagged for the initial clear offside, and we would have had a free kick, instead the insane implementation of VAR allows marginal offsides to be exploited to gain a corner.

Shoved Sokratis, usually when 2 players clash like that they both get booked but Winks got away with it. Probably because he was already on a yellow.

Clearly the lino believed he was onside otherwise he would have flagged after the chance had eventually gone.

Do agree with you though insert about how it’s unfair that the attacking team gets another chance from any resulting corner. Ideally you want to see VAR calling it back for the offside, particularly when the resulting corner leads to a goal. Problem is if that is implemented then there will also be people be calling for all corners to be checked, including who it bounced off last.

VAR seems to have enough problems as it is already. Can’t believe how not a single one of the howler decisions at the weekend across multiple games weren’t overturned. I’m glad it hasn’t affected us yet but it will.

It seems to me so far that those in charge of VAR over here don't want to undermine the refs by changing their decisions, which is making the whole process rather pointless.

Decisions the refs have missed like handballs and offsides are being corrected but I don't think we've yet seen a decision the ref has given being overturned have we?

At least it seems to be working quite well for offside decisions but that's pretty easy.

We've agreed to sell Bobby Duncan to Fiorentina, glad that particularly episode is over. Nothing against the kid but he was very badly advised.
