The difference Bobby playing rather than origi was huge and lends weight to the idea we should be looking for someone who can come in for firmi and do the same job even if not as well (not sure anyone could)

Disagree with the last point. For me we should look for a lesser known maybe young player who looks similar and just try it out. Not a big money signing so it wouldn't matter if it didn't pay off. But right now there is No one who can even attempt what Bobby does so it's worth a punt imo.
So why not use brewster? Why not continue replacing Bobby with mane and let origi play wide? Hes had major impact for us there.
This is basically just going to be a re-hash of the summers arguments though, where the rest of the top 6 improved and we stood still.
Yet we have the biggest PL lead after 5 games.
On another note, maybe its me being unnecessarily harsh, but i believe VAR should be used to retrospectively punish dangerous tackles,
Someone went in two footed on Mane yesterday, luckily he got out the way, but he was out of control and dangerous, in my opinion, those tackles need punishing with a retrospective yellow, not a major punishment by any means, but it would move people closer to one match suspensions and hopefully cut a few more dangerous tackles out of the game BEFORE someone gets injured.

It’s all to do with a “threshold”. The PL don’t want to re-referee a game. Trouble is those working in VAR HQ don’t want to undermine the referees when they make a howler. The whole thing seems to have been brought in as an excuse to disallow goals.

They've brought in VAR and everyone has access to replays. Only the central ref has no access to a replay, but still he makes the final call.
The ref in the VAR room should have the final say.
Why are we trusting football authorities to properly implement VAR? These are people who can't even tie their bootlaces FFS. I just knew they'd fack it up.

I thought Norwich should have had a penalty too yesterday, perhaps I'm misunderstanding the new rules.
That was one of the reasons why it worked so well in Russia! The referees embraced receiving help instead of fearing they’d be undermined.

Our games seem to be utterly devoid of VAR incidents btw.
Mixed bag with VAR so far. On one hand it is working really well for offside goals, so at least it eliminates that potential howler (and keepers off their lines at pens, less bothered about that tbh)
Completely pointless for every pen decision though as they have decided literally everything is a ‘subjective decision’ so nothing will ever be overturned.
If we are the first ones to have an iffy one overturned against us I will be absolutely livid.
Let say we would have lost the game 0-1 yesterday and the pen was not given would have costed us.
