I’d say the Mane red card had more to do with that loss than the international break.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very true, everything in isolation I suppose. As greatteams has pointed out the me, maybe my choice of words was not good and i should have phrased it better. But looking at those results I still think it was a fairish comment, that based on previous seasons, international breaks have affected our rhythm.
It's almost as though when we have a lower quality side we win less games.
i think it was fair, used to be an issue, not so much anymore

We are notoriously bad after an international break, here's hoping we break that bad habit
-----------------
I find that hard to believe considering we have lost one game in about 50.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing poorly doesn't necessarily amount to losing. Because that's not what I said is it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you give some examples of why we're "notoriously bad"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2017-2018 season we lost 5-0 to Man City and that was straight after an international break and also beaten 4-0 in 2015. We've also played Tottenham Hotspur 4x times after international breaks since 2015. In 2015 we drew 1-1 and in 2016 was the same. Last year was different as we beat them home and away. And I also believe the games with man United have been goalless draws in 16 & 17. So you could say, we've improved alot, but before last season it was indifferent. Maybe I am having a perception that we always play badly, but we've certainly had our share of injuries after international breaks as well.
So I suppose after reviewing the above fixtures it's only become better since last season. So i don't think my comment after analysis is erroneous on the whole, but I am maybe keeping in my mind that we are bad after international breaks because of previous years which is giving me that perception.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, you have trawled back about 4-5 years to justify it

I was called out, so I had to answer. But as I've admitted above, since 18/19 it has greatly improved and I'm clearly holding this as a perception and not the last 18 months reality. Whilst I was checking up on all of this I read that 8 out of our last 9 fixtures after international breaks have been against top 6 sides. Which I find mental. Clearly not getting the rib of the green when it comes to fixtures from the F.A.
Yeah I think it was more the fact that we were playing Utd, City or Spurs, who were all better than us at the time. If we'd been getting smashed by WBA, Burnley or Southampton then I'd worry.

Funny that you bring up WBA, because they're actually a team we have drawn against after an international break.
Glad we no longer have to play West Brom, facking hate those caants.

Yep, horrid team. I hope Burnley go down with em this year as well. Another turgid side.

So to summarise, we've been lucky?
My favourite part was the way that our game against Burnley was drifting towards a stalemate until that freak goal, like as if it was in the 85th minute and we would have had no more chances. Not the 33rd minute
Wow. It's amazing that people keep pointing to incidents that went in our favour during games like an opposition player missing a chance etc. It's like this doesnt happen against other sides and also conveniently failing to mention the chances we missed.
Some people are just struggling to come to terms with the fact Liverpool are now one of the best in Europe and they're trying to justify it.
That article could have been written by some mug on this forum. It's cringe.
Us being bad after international breaks goes all the way back to the Rafa days cliches.
Maybe with Rodgers we were...not so much with Klopp. We've been mint for 2 seasons now. People need to accept that we're not that side with daft results anymore. It happens on the rare occasion but we're way better than that now.
Trent has entered the Guinness World Book of Records for having the most assists as a defender in a PL season.
Massive weekend for us. City are playing Palace. If Palace can have the same belief as they did last season ad the same belief that Wolves had then they could cause another upset. I am watching it with City fans on Saturday so I will be praying for a Palace win. If they can take any points off them and we can beat the swamp donkeys then it would be a massive statement on the league.
We're notorious for having players become Scotland captain (Robertson is Scotland captain)
robertson is scotland captain?!?
A lot of the Mancs seem to think they’re going to beat us on Sunday, hopefully make it all the sweeter when Mane & Salah run them ragged.
Is Salah fit? Thought he might be a doubt.
Mans was posing on the cover of GQ...he's fit.
