yeah like when they kept quiet on Ox injury, multiple knee ligaments done in.
Mane through the middle is not a bad idea. He can drop deep and link the play but also make that movement in between the center back and fullback like he did against Everton for the disallowed goal.
His starting position will be different but he will still play the same way with his runs and link up with others.
It took Ox a full year to get back from that injury but then he also had a full pre season to get fit after his return but with VVD he comes back next October with no pre season meaning it will take him months to get full match sharpness.
I mean we can hope and pray this isn't the case, but even though players like Ox aren't retired, his career is never going to take off consistently because of how many injuries he has suffered and continues to suffer from as well.
dont think we will see him again this season so time to plan ahead, even next season could miss games and eased back in but he'll be in his 30s to so no doubt this will cut his career short.
All in for Upamecano would be best n rescue mbappe from PSG

Upamecano is our first choice in the january window according to Ian McGarry.

He actually really hard I think. I'm normally a bit dead inside but I do feel for the big man.

It will take the pressure off Virgil and the club rushing him back if we can get a center back in january.
I'd be very surprised if we didn't try and sign a centre back in January now.

Yeah, i think that everyone has written off this season. Hope he is back for June and can get a nice solid pre season in. Whether we get anyone in January probably comes down to how we get on in the next 2 months. I still think we'll be ok as long as one of Gomez or Matip can stay fit that time and play every game and we get games out of Thiago.

Asking a lot for Matip to be doing that, especially with CL commitments. I imagine the CB partnership will likely be Fabinho - Gomez for a considerable amount of the season, or up until January at the very earliest.

It's a great hit tbf
Absolutely devastating for Virgil. Arguably our most important player, between him and Alisson imo and we lose both at the same time.
Surely it’s a must that we get a CB in Jan?
