Ok, I’m lying down. How am I ever gonna get up again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worst thing you can do and prolongs the issue. I would lie down for hours then be in extreme pain everytime I got up as muscles tightened up.

Sweet Jesus sleeping sucks!!!!

It’s taken me 15 minutes of listening up before I could brave the stairs

I agree the government have handled it poorly but saying they did it on purpose is a quite frankly ridiculous suggestion to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They iterally openly talked about and supported herd immunity. It's not ridiculous at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the early days that was a viable option that a few countries have used - Sweden being one.

Hindsight is 20 20.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes perhaps it's coincidence. They must be incredibly inept then, you know to have ignored all advice and the successes of other countries.

Of course they've done it on purpose, it's literally Governmeng policy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Successes of what country exactly?

Please don't quote New Zealand it has less than a tenth of our population and is incredibly remote.

All have done better, that's not up for debate.

The Government that brought you Windrush, Glenfell, lost paedo files, broke electoral law on Brexit, voted against school dinners and is being sued in nine separate litagations for corruption and supported herd immunity kept everything open to foreign travel for months and gave quite awful advice 'accidently' leading to mass infection/herd immunity anyway.

I feel you're incredibly naive.

Not denying they are inept I'm arguing with your point about the successes of other countries.

I've asked for examples of countries, ones that are comparable to here with covid success stories we should be following.

You didn't need to counteract that with a rant that nobody will argue with.

Yep. For how long, we shall see.

This is his last chance I’d say. Hopefully we have about 17/18 matches left this season.

If he can’t prove he can stay fit and be available for at least 12 of those, that’s it.

Japan is a similar size, has a higher population, is next door to China and has 5% of our deaths.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sweden attempted it in the first wave and it went horrifically. The second wave they acted as everyone who had left it too late and shut down.

Even Sweden acknowledge their policy was ridiculous yet people here still hold it up as some sort of example.

It was government policy to let a virus with a mortality rate of 1% sweep through the population. Most countries that have tried it had to dig mass graves and had their health services collapse, it was NEVER viable.

Plenty of countries stopped this in its tracks, it's all the other idiots who have allowed it to run rampant and allowed it to mutate that means we will be living with this forever.

The viable option was to follow WHO guidelines, that have been longstanding pandemic practice and have worked extremely well for many countries.

Or you know, maybe Boris not skipping multiple COBRA meetings at the start of the pandemic might have helped too.

Tbf Term they told us to eat out to help out... and we did.

Japan had hardly any rules as everything was advice based. But basically everyone follows the advice so there was no need for rules. But they were told to not go to gyms don't eat out don't etc etc that essentially were the same as our rules.
