Matic is a better option that Mikel in any position, how did it take you this long to notice?
Come to the realisation after a few games into this season, when in actually fact Matic performed better last season and proved to be a cut above Mikel from the moment he signed. Very odd.

Why?
I used to not be too bothered by Mikel. He just seemed like a neutral influence. Better than being down to 10 men but no really adding much value either. He's starting to irritate me now though. I don't know why this guy has survived in our squad for so long.
Far more dimensions to his game than Mikel IMO, goes forward, can shoot and carry a goal threat. There's nothing that Mikel can do that he can't, but there's lots that he can offer that Mikel doesn't seem to.
Mikel, the great conundrum, no ?. After all this time and through all the different managers that we have had ,NO one seems to have the answer to What ,he actually brings to the team ! I'm as baffled now 'as I was 5 years ago .
Yet all the managers keep Mikel around and use him. So they must be seeing something in him we don't?

Well if been going to the bridge since the 60s have a bit more respect for our senior players, Mikel has played his part, your dismissal of his last 5 years is ignorant.
Yeah Yeah we all know its time for him to move on when we get the opportunity it will happen, but to discredit him as you have done makes you sound like a short term supporter and not a senior long term follower as you say you are.

I presume because the people that are paid megabucks for their insight and knowledge of our team and its individual players think hes worth the Money they pay him , and the opinion of several monday night armchair managers isnt going to get him sold. Mikkel is a very good solid technical player not dynamic, and if he is playing with fear then its probably been installed by all the negative gobsheite in our own fans.
