I rate Modric highly but last night I saw him play one of his worst games ever for Real against Valladolid. It will be very hard for him to get his great form back from last season and I really hate seeing how much he's declined. Still a top player tho.
But his form has declined is what I'm trying to say. It may be due to having won so many trophies at Real since joining that there really isn't anything else for him to achieve at Real. It's a lack of intensity this season but the same can be said about the other under performing players like Marcelo and Kroos. His poor form is partly due to CR7 leaving but the different managers this season have also not helped the team.
Mate I've watched nearly all of Real's matches this season and he is at a much lower level then he was last season. The amount of times Modric lost possession in the last game was way too much for a player of his calibre. And it wasn't just last game. Modric has become less influential in the team since the season started. Modric had a great season last season, but he has already reached his peak and will not reach the high level of performance's he had last season. Age has nothing to do with this. Modric is a case of been there, won it all, nothing else to do.
Will prob be a part of my Argie midfield next to Lo Celso and Paredes next season. I'm open to offers tho but it'd have to be a very good one.
