Hafeez Banned

The injustice continues.

I could have told you years ago Hafeez chucked the quicker one..because it was obvious to the naked eye.

posted on 7/12/14

He hasn't bowled the quicker delivery or the delivery with a pause for years. You got no chance when there is no independent testing. 2 Indian were seen to chuck in last series against sri lanka but did they get reported? Nope.

posted on 7/12/14

The difference is kash, they were seen "chucking" by you, not the umpires.

It's funny though, how ever since ajmal was banned, you're very quick to say others are obviously chucking. Why did you not say anything while ajmal was bowling?

Vinz, Ajmal was cleared by ICC and his excuse of some childhood accident defect seemed legit like Murali so who was i to question that ruling..

There has been a crackdown but it seems very one sided in favour of big 3.

all bowlers with questionable deliveries should be looked into. that goes for English bowlers aswell..
If indian bowlers are chucking. chuck them out.

I have no sympathy with Ajmal, but surprised by this.

Indian fans need to make up their minds on technology....tell me why they don't believe in DRS but believe in these tests involving new and unproven technology?? I would also like to know how Ajmal's flex went from 8° to >40°. Makes me wonder what the like of other Asian teams and in particular Harbhajan's flex was seeing as he has failed the old tests.

With this new technology, would any spinner ( Asians) pass the test? Seems like only the non Asians teams don't chuck to win. The Asian teams are suspect.

Indian fans generally want DRS. It is the BCCI that is against!

posted on 7/12/14

IMO this tests should be conducted for all spinners. There is only a handful of them. Cant be that difficult, can it?
I dont see how you can blame India for that though? Its the umpires that report. And why would any team have an issue with Hafeez bowling? its not like he is a shane warne.

posted on 7/12/14

although you can still doubt the credibility of these tests. All bowlers that have gone through the tests have failed them. These tests does need to be more transparent and the public needs to know how they are conducted

Would they count his record or stats now?

Wsmm I think most Indians are in support of DRS and technology but its the stubborn BCCI who are against it due to a few isolated incidents. In regards to unorthodox spin bowlers lets face it there are a few who have very suspect actions and its good there are now more testing centres around the globe to put a stop to it. The fact is if your arm excedes the bent degree limit you should be forced to remodel your action before returning. Nonsense to suggest its injustice and certain countries' players are being targeted. In fact its true that most spinners who do have unorthodox actions are much more likely to come from the subcontinent because they aren't stopped or taught at an earlier age and that many lack the facilities and guidance to change it before it becomes highlighted internationally.

infact I know for a fact that Sehwag was always for DRS. And in the team dhoni and SRT were the big reasons why DRS was objected

How are the topics 'DRS' and 'chucking' connected?

posted on 7/12/14

Great they arent but thats the logic most on here are using to blame India for banning bowlers that are found to chuck. their argument is if India cant accept DRS how did they accept this testing method.

posted on 7/12/14

Are the umpires relying on DRS to report bowlers for suspected illegal action?

Not one Indian as well as Aus or English but they don't tend to produce much spin options. The conspiracy is the big 3 monopolise cricket and they have taken this option to remove spinners that are a threat.

Nothing in Hafeez action of late to ban him but these new phantom tests prove otherwise. These tests can only be conducted in either England, Oz or India. Why these 3 spots when ICC headquarters are in Dubai?

I'll tell you why the ICC have sold their sole to the big 3 and are powerless. Cricket is no longer a level playing field.

ICC is now selling shoe 'soles'? So broke, huh?

Wasn't Herbie Singh banned for sometime before he returned with a remedied action?

I used to love cricket. Played to a reasonable level and watched any team that was playing including local teams

I count many a professional cricketer as a friend and spent time with the likes of tahir, nazir, morkel et al but cricket is so corrupt and imo no longer a sport where skill is tested on the field of play. Haven watched a match in years.

The corruption starts with kids and local teams where a chairmans son gets into the first team despite being chit and players are paid backhanders to keep playing as non professionals.

That was before the big 3 formed its own comitee and before the money boom in India when the ICC had the power. Nowadays any Indian illegal action is ignored.

It won't be long before Ashwin is reported.

There was one legendary comment from Essex captain Doug Insole after he was dismissed by Tony Lock.

He asked the square-leg umpire: Am I bowled or run out?

Lock wouldn't have survived a day of international cricket with the current level of scrutiny.

Doubt it. The bcci wouldn't allow it. Money talks in all aspects of cricket. It's probably the most corrupt sport in the world.
