Top top player.

Best ODI player, by far, right now.

Looks like SA are going to get very close to the record ODI score...but 16 sixes for ABDV, off 40 balls!

It's like a score off stick cricket - utterly ridiculous hitting.

That was freaking amazing.

Amazing player. The only thing missing is winning a game for SA in a ICC event knock out.

3 records broken in one innings....

- the fastest 50 (16 balls)
- the fastest 100 (31 balls)
- equal most sixes

Deserved the 150 too

Awesome batting from a superb cricketer, would be nice to see the Windies make a fist of the chase

Without a doubt the best batsmen in the planet. Regardless of the format he just keeps on scoring.

On Paper SA have to by far the best odi side and would be a shame if they dont reach the finals. Amla, faf, ab, miller. that is some batting. And Amla scores tons every other match.

No wonder they are easily labelled chockers if they dont win cause they just seem to be such a good unit that cant expect them to lose.

Class knock from a class player. Played against his brother once, what a tool he was, fair to say AB got all the talent

He is indeed a class act. Always enjoyed watching him whether that be batting or in the field. The talent was always there but I'm not sure he knew what direction he was going in for a while.

Certainly one of South Africa's greatest players post-Apartheid.

Now as viru points out above, they need to win something. They have the players to although that's been said many a time over the past 20 years.

You can get 7/2 on SA to win the world cup or 5\2 on Aus, it will be one of those two that wins it.

No doubt about it, he is a supremely gifted man with a ridiculous level of self-belief. Genius doesn't say it all.. Right now he is ranked the second best Test batsmen, he is top of the ODI abf pound for pound, format by format, there is no better player than de Villiers.

I'm curious to know how many semi final or quarter finals AB has won for SA? That's what the great players in the past have done by scoring runs when they are most needed.

This coming world cup will be a chance for AB to seal his legacy.

He has an average of 52 in 15 World Cup games. He's not a choker and never has been. A true legend.

posted on 19/1/15

That wasn't the question though. With all the minnows in the tournament an average at 50 is par.

AB is a world great. But the West Indians bowl like drunken chuffers. They hung it out there time and time again.

Rohit's 264, Ab's 31 ball century, all this is a shame to ODI cricket.
