on a positive: Did anyone else notice Eriksen being the only player that could play a through ball. It shows what having a decent passer in the midfield could do for our team.
imagine having a decent mid-rang passer supplying Eriksen and Kane with through balls, not to talk of Chadli and Townsend/Lamela.
I see the fault with our play being more of our midfields inability to spot a run or space than anything else.
Just need a good midfield pairing to bring it all together.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
eriksen was pissss poor last night. looks tired. needs a rest
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eriksen and Kane both need one this Saturday. but the only through ball I saw yesterday was played by Eriksen.
It's a sad reflection on midfield.
Dembele, Mason, Stambouli should not be on the pitch at the same timein any combination. All the above need to be playing next to quality to up their game.
It's pretty clear to see, we have had a fair am mount of luck this season with late goals. All of this has helped put Spurs in a better position than we deserve from some of our performances.
Last nights game and our trip to palace shows we just do not have the creativity in midfield to make lots of chances. Eriksen apart our midfield is way to defensive. Capoue Stanbouli dembele mason benteleb are not players that are going to make things happen.
What's clear is we need a spark in midfield a non defensive midfielder. Oh and a striker that knows where the goal is. Ade was his useless self and should be banished to the reserves, soldado who at least try's and is likeable enough, but is never gonna score enough and relieve the burden on Kane.
We have 10 days left of this window, we are crying out for a decent forward and a midfield spark . We all know nothing will happen and we will be left with the same dross come the 2nd of February . If we have any ambitions of a top 4 finish then please God! Levy get your cheque book out
It would be a better idea to alienated Ade, that worked well for AVB
Our manager actually manages to keep everyone happy and gets slated for it

why is it luck to score goals within the allotted time of a football match?
don't really understand that. perhaps our opposition should play hard for the full game, instead of letting us walk all over them towards the end of games.

I think there's a balance. No one would have minded Ade starting to rest Kane or Eriksen but the fact they both started and Eriksen was pushed out wide to accommodate Ade whilst making him captain seems a little over the top.
Despite this I think porch was playing a little game with Levy...demonstrating Ade is of no use....For all to see

Well yeah a game does last 90 minutes and a win is a win but you only have to look at our goal difference compared to other teams around us. Apart from the Chelsea game and Newcastle in the cup we have really struggled to put games to bed. The fact we are still playing on 4 fronts is good, but my feeling is our football has not been great and our squad is not strong enough to finish in the top 4 or win the Europa league.
Everyone can see that eriksen needs a rest he was rubbish last night and at palace 2 weeks ago. Kane can't always do it he is still young and learning his trade these 2 need help and sadly our midfield and forwards are not gonna chip in.
I didn't have a problem with the team selection on the whole..... Apart from Adebarndoor being picked. I don't want him playing for our club ever again.
As regards to his contract - if it was upto me I'd pay him off just to get rid, but I can't see Levy paying up as the rest of his contract is probably worth £8m over the next 18 months.
No doubt the resident ade fanboys will be all over this article to defend him, won't even bother to read what they've got to say about him.

Admire your principles GS but i think you've got it wrong re. Poch. Lets not forget that in most football cultures, the captain isnt as significant as it is in England. Poch named 3 captains at the start of the season - Kaboul, Lloris and Ade. As the first two were not playing, it was Ade's turn. I doubt Poch even gave it a moment's thought about the impact, he just stuck to the team setup.
As for Kane being upset, Poch has helped elevate him into a PL star. No way will he be angry at Poch, if anything he's indebted to him. I admit it would have been nice to see Walker captain against his old club, but again, thats probably English sentiment speaking, i doubt it crossed Poch's mind. Ultimately he just stuck to the game plan laid out at the start of the season, i have no issues with that.

Hide behind what you like and quote league positions as much as you want but this is actually the worst Spurs team we have seen for 7 or 8 years.
Once this season we have played really well and that was chelsea at home, I dont think I will get any argument on that at least.
Please note that since that game our "manager" has tinkered and messed with the side and gave us what we saw last night.
A team totally unrecognisable from our best performance of the season
Well done Poch you are a star it only took you a few games to wreck things

I never even read the stories I am going from what I see with my own eyes or are you telling me that I have not seen Adebayor take the pi$$ out of the club his teamates and the fans?
As for the allegations that its an OTT reaction think again.
I may have not agreed with Adebayor starting but whats OTT is making him captain, that was one dreadful management decision no matter which way you look at it
Only thing I can possibly imagine is that Poch has been told under no uncertain terms that Ade won't be paid off, and until another chairman appears to be as gullible as Levy to hire that lazy sod at such expense he's going nowhere.
Personally I'd leave him out anyway if I were in Poch's position. Cutting off my nose to spite my face it may be, but if someone's not on board with trying to succeed then they're not worth trying to intergrate.... Let alone give the armband to
Ledley
The rest I could forgive the manager for but the armband?
Dreadful totally dreadful and an insult to the players that have run themselves into the ground for the team
Poch has come out and said he's a key player, and kept him as vice captain.
Ade has backed Poch staunchly.
Sherwood said Ade is great around the place, and Kane - his protege - has learned a lot from him.
Townsend backed him yesterday.

Andros Townsend on Ade:
"The manager's picked him to start because in training he's worked hard and got his head down and showed he deserves to be in the squad. He's got himself fit, worked extremely hard and he got his reward with a start.
"He's a funny character: always joking, always dancing. He's a great guy to have around. He's a fantastic character.
