I think the problem is that this election wasn’t meant to happen and it was all done last minute

Yeah that must have come into it but can't be used as an excuse at all

Anyone high up enough to make a decision on whether to start the process would have known it was going ahead months ago

#deniedmyvote was trending on Twitter yesterday as thousands of EU nationals were prevented from voting.

It is a national disgrace, we seem to have those almost daily at the moment.

Hopefully their is a legal repercussion on the way for our failed government.

Considering that likely zero of them would have voted for a brexit supporting party and the turn out for this election is quite low it's massive

Corrected, and also to comment, Theresa May said she would protect their rights.

She’s just denied them the opportunity to vote.

It’s probably cause it was all last minute as I think they had a different way of registering

Wonder if we could rehold the election

They had no issues before and it was the same process apparently. It's just a massive, inexcusable fack up that will hopefully either be remedied with a late vote or heavy punishment for the people at the top who were at fault

Many of these EU citizens were specifically told everything was done and dusted and ready for them to vote - they'd filled in the required forms (according to the info available) on time.

Should have found a way to let them vote because now the remain side will call this a tainted victory if leave partys win.

Theresa May has "been treated abominably," says former Tory Chancellor Ken Clarke:

"Now some of the leading figures hope they are going to be prime minister of this country whose main efforts have been put into stabbing Theresa May and getting rid of her"

She’s been treated like shiiit because she is the worst PM this country has had to endure

posted on 24/5/19

The 2 million figure equals about 5% of the voting population.

I assume they could also vote in the referendum?? If that is the case, the percentage of British people wanting to leave is higher that the 52%.

How is a vote where legitimate voters are denied a vote - not tainted?

I know legally they are entitled to vote, but it is a bit odd because of what they are voting on.
