Govt emergency Coronavirus legislation published:

* Care standards can be lowered

* Elderly patients can be discharged early

* Ports & airports can be ordered to close

* Funerals speeded up

* Police can detain people with virus

* Schools can be ordered to stay open/ close
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Elderly patients can be discharged early just means they can tell the elderly patients to go stuff it because they need the bed for patients more likely to recover.

Hippocratic Oath

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

Yeah, boot the elderly out.

Because every flu season here in the UK hospitals are just full of young, sick patients.

Easy, reinstalling boarder checks/restrictions.

France and Spain see how they can control flow of people and look towards leaving the EU.

Germany will be the only power propping it up.

You can do that at such a young age? Well obviously you can.

But he can’t buy a beer till he is 18. Crazy, what age can he legally fly solo if he gets his licence?

this is literally delusional crap, but typical from your bog standard Brexiteer who had no idea what they voted for anyway.

Don't think they will look to leave the EU but if closing the borders works in extreme scenarios don't be surprised if they look to pull the lever again in other scenarios. Once that genie is out the bottle it is hard to put back in...

Pilot's license at gcse age?

Anyway just an update with regards to partial school closures.

It seems the reason for this maybe staff shortages due to staff off sick/isolating

So am assuming it's to prioritise the gcse crew.

Fair enough imo

That was always going to be an issue
Children appear to “sail” through but carry it
Teachers were always going to succumb

When I initially posted it was a wtf moment, as in why close half the school. GCSE exams or not risk is risk type of thing.

I'm having issues with my own parents mate.

My mum's diabetic and has lung issues. I work in a role where my customers are wide and varied and face to face.

We, siblings, visit parents daily. I'm worried about going up and have kept away for a couple of days. Trying to explain why hasn't gone down well

Just discussing, via phone, about shelves bring empty and she's like "come eat here" we have plenty. Breaks my heart as she goes out of her way for us. But frustrating as hell if that makes sense
