Just seen a feature on the BBC news about Celia and Nick Jones who are stuck on a cruise ship in South America and would really like to get home for their autistic son.

Do these people really think that the majority of folk in England have any sympathy for them?

They weren't too bothered about their son when they facked off on holiday and how stupid do you have to be to go on a cruise under the current circumstances?

As a side issue the BBC presented the feature in such a way that we should feel sorry for them rather than from a how could they be so daft perspective which was also wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

totally agree. Heard someone else on the news the other day bemoaning their nightmare situation during their cruise in the med. Why the feck would you still go on that cruise given the current situation!?!?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone who stepped on to a cruise ship recently should be torpedoed
Ffs how fookin daft are they
----------------------------------------------------------------------

When did the ship set sail? Pertinent to remember that only 10 days ago the UK Government was still adopting an "everything is fine, nothing to see here" approach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unless they were rowing I’d guess it was relatively recently but I accept your argument
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not saying you're wrong about them being idiots, I'm just open to the possibility that they're oblivious/ignorant idiots rather than actively malicious idiots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think any of them are malicious maybe a bit unknowing

BREAKING: 759 people have now died from Coronavirus in UK, up by 181 (31%) on yesterday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the surge predicted.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, I think this is just the start. We aren’t close to ‘full surge’ yet.

Got a message from an old colleague who works with docs at the Royal London this afternoon, and he says things there are “escalating quickly and looking very, very grim”

I'm guessing that despite seeing David Abel all over the news last month they decided to go rather than lose any money.

Malicious, maybe not. Selfish, almost certainly. Stupid, without doubt!

How safe would you think being in hospital for something other than Corona would be right now?

Need to learn to make it at home..

I’m not so sure. I drive into a works car park this morning. A mobile cafe is in there, with several people all in a huddle around the vendor. Vendor not even wearing gloves.

I truly despair.

My daughter in law is a polis and she says she’s had a lot less shouts for the mad and bad stuff so there’s a better chance of policing this
