One month ago Priti Patel said anyone earning less than £25k is an “unskilled worker” & can’t enter the UK

NHS starting salaries:

Nurse £24.2k
Paramedic £24.2k
Midwife £24.2k
Radiographer £24.2k
Care assistant £17.6k

But now the government is clapping for them...

If you look at the growth of the percentage of tests returning positive, it further debunks the Oxford model. If we were at anything close to 50 percent you wouldn't see this. As the probability of the person presenting symptoms at the hospital to the point of being admitted and having covid would be far higher than we are seeing.
On the 16th of march it was 3.5 percent, and has risen to 30 percent as of yesterday.

Makes Tim Martin telling his staff to get jobs at tesco even worse as that would have cancelled thier furlough eligibility

That is why he asked them to do it, he would rather do a mass firing than take on loans and furlough people

Doesn't change the fact entry level nurses can't come in from abroad. Which is currently what we need, and the best position for them to adapt to the language and culture.

Yeah, I'm glad I left the company, messaged lots of my old staff before as I guessed it was the case. Hope not many did get other jobs, loads of them are a bunch of dumb kids and he knows it

Last time the tories clapped for the NHS was when they shot down a payrise for them.

After years and yet as of stagnant wages.

Why do you believe that? Are you expecting something we don’t? This isn’t a dig btw. Genuine question.

I think (fwiw) the government have been very clear for some time that we expect a significant rise in deaths. The building of new hospitals and morgues all point to that so everyone knows, yet still we have these high approval ratings.

I think the media are still doing such a fantastic job of shielding him, haven't seen much mention of his failure to join the european wide procurement initiative at all.

Nor the time lapses for their action comparative to other states. He won't be held to account.
