That Czech penalty at Hampden for Euro 2012 and late Italy goal for euro 2008 still get at me.
5 million towards the Aviva!? What did that pay for then, a row of seats?
Delaney and the FAI are a shower of clowns really. The GAA shows them how to do things properly again and again.
Heard an interview with Delaney about it on the way home tonight.
He hasn't spoken about it till now because of the confidentiality clause Blooter insisted on putting in the deal. Seems plausible.

as plausible as Andy coulston

I think you'll find that Mr. Coulson has benn found not guilty of lying this very week. How very dare you besmirch his character in this shameful manner. Presumably a jury of his peers found him to be very plausible.
He has done a wee stretch for phone tapping

Ferguson was offside v Italy for the Scotland goal so I guess that one evened out
I always found the reaction for Ireland hilarious, considering in the group stages of those qualifiers, they received a terrible decision that helped them get a home win v Georgia, they didn't complain, in fact some of their own hacks lapped it up
there was no repay offered then for Georgia
its obviously S T F U money and I don't buy the pi$h about it being for the Aviva, which opened 5 months after that tie, the finance for that ground would have been settled long before
there was no repay offered then for Georgia
Just because Georgia haven't talked about hush money doesn't necessarily mean that they didn't get any. You never know what, if anything, Blooter offered them or even if they complained and threatened legal action.
im not talking about money, Ireland initially demanded a replay, then asked for them to be added to WC as an extrat team
they didn't offer Georgia the same courtesy when they benefitted from a woeful decision themselves in the group stages.

They never offered it to Ireland either, but they did give them, as you put it, S T F U money.
Maybe Georgia should have complained.
im no talking about fifa im talking about Ireland themselves

Ireland complained, Georgia probably didn't. Where's the problem, other than the fact that it's Ireland.

I dont want to stereotype here but are the paddys not too thick to be corrupt?
In my experience of corruption the people involved tend to be pretty savvy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd love to have said that , but be called a bigot
nothing to do with Ireland, ive slated Scotland and their reactions aswel
most notably the Italy game in 07. hounding the ref at his home yet ignoring the fact Scotland's goal in same game should never have stood
Aaaaah, now we're getting to it.
Your beelin' that Ireland got some S T F U money for complaining, but Scotland didn't.
Maybe FIFA/Blooter saw the scenario the same way you do and told Scoland to GTF cos we'd dodged a bullet elsewhere in the game.
no not at all, I couldn't care less about the national team
Dennis
You seem to be getting a bit hot under the collar for someone who doesn't give a ratsarse.
Can someone please tell me how you have legal recourse for a refs mistake?
Who will man the flood gate

Would you have known about this if Delaney hadn't ... you know ... actually said it?
It certainly reeks and if I was a player in the Ireland squad I'd want to throttle the kants who accepted the money.
That was a disgraceful night for football and for Theirry Henry, how he never got a lengthy ban for blatant cheating is beyond me.
Ireland are now just as dirty though

If the bung showed up on their annual accounts then there should be no issue. If not, then why not? The most likely reason would be that it's only being disclosed as they are running scared and trying to minimise the probability of being accused of being corrupt by coming clean a few weeks before they are exposed as yet another gang of bandits.

No, and that's what I mean
Those involved in corruption don't normally tell the world they have received a bung
They are normally quite clever
That is why I don't expect paddys to be corrupt

I'd be surprised if it is not shown in the accounts - it's just how it is shown. If it was not declared in the accounts, then that would open up a whole new can of (tax) worms for the FAI.
How it is shown in the accounts would be interesting, e.g. grant, etc
