I watched Mother! last night, with the Mrs.

It was 100% the biggest pile of crap I've seen in a very long time.

Think it's had some good critics reviews too, which I find baffling.

''Anyone here seen the wire before?''

No why, is it any good?

Nah, it's just EastEnders but with more drugs and violence and set in P- Burgh as opposed to Albert Square.

I didn’t mind the Fountain or Black Swan for that matter, though I would class the Wrestler as his most universally re-watchable film mainly because it's a more character driven drama and, frankly, his less pretentious.

Darren Aronofsky as a filmmaker has always slapped his metaphorical biblical allegories on pretty hard though.
He's never going to be subtle with it and for that reason I know what to expect when I'm heading into one of his films.

Personally I don’t mind Biblical references in film. I’m very open minded on them aslong as they coincide with a well developed story, characters with depth and they're simply not ham-fisted in for pretentious subtext which is unwarranted/misplaced in the general film.

My favourite director of alltime has many bible related references in them but he also has a sense of his own self when he created his works.
And though he was a Christian that still didn’t lessen his critical eye towards Christianity, usually portrayed through his characters doubts.

I don't mind the references, metaphors, and knew (sort of) what to expect with this film, but I did not expect it to be such a drag as it was. Couldn't wait for it to end.

I liked it a lot

The whole time I was thinking "wtf is this?? What was that? Why is this happening?? Why are those people like that?!?" And I have zero answers for any of that. But in the end I was totally immersed, felt things I didn't realize I would feel and thought technically it was incredibly shot and pulled off. It might well be a classic in the end. You know, once somebody smarter than myself tells me what everything was supposed to mean.

''It's talk like that that leads me to believe you've not seen a sniff of Battlestar Galactica.''

RTM, young'un, you got me.. yes, i haven't watched the whole thing, but one the things i clearly remember is that the Cast of both shows highly respected the others show.
both sets claimed the other show was the best.
So, if the cast of the Wire were saying Battlestar was a better show then so be it, but for me there's no way Battlestar will inflict the emotions i had watching the Wire, it'll be different. a good different, that may make me say yes, it's one the greats.
but yes i haven't seen it, so you'll never catch me criticising it.

Saw Kingsman Golden Circle.

Enjoyed myself a lot. Yes there are holes, but maybe it was the group i was with. We had a blast!
Initial reaction. 7.5.
and i may have witnessed the funniest Cameo performances ever put to screen.
