Shazam still out? Might check it out. Before this board melts down with the reaction to Godzilla!

So has the GOT writers lost all credibility for the last 2 seasons. I mean for me that’s a bit harsh.
I like GOT but not a die hard, and so certain things people were upset about didn’t really bother me.

But these guys were the writers from day one. So don’t they get credit for adapting the book for TV?
I mean there have been worse writers out there, I just think they set themselves such a high standard.
The prevailing theory is that when it comes to their own ideas, it doesn’t work, and so they are bound to F up Star Wars?

Think people are just annoyed that they basically didn't care enough about GOT to give it the ending it deserved. They obviously deserve praise for being showrunners through the best bits but it seemed like they just didn't care about finishing the project properly cos they wanted to move onto SW.

Guess if you can half ass something so badly that will always be a worry in future projects.

Do you know the reasoning for why it was only 6 Eps this time?
That for sure hurt it, cos it does feel like rushed. Especially when they started an Episode with hardly any dialog, in Ep 3.
But overall, i thought it was alright. But the shock value or the payoffs didn’t have the weight it should have had.
But man, they did shoot the hell out of it though. Some great, even iconic imagery.
Danerys with the Dragon wings.
Arya, standing in the rubble at dusk. The Horse thing was a bit odd though, what happened to it in Ep 6?

And if say, they are working on KotOR, isn't there Material for them to refer to?

Think it was short because the showrunners wanted to finish it so they could get going with Star Wars - apparently HBO wanted 10 seasons but they made the choice to wrap it up in a much quicker time and the story really suffered for it.

True, hopefully someone else is writing the first draft too. They obviously have a lot of strength and if well used they could make something incredible, but I think if left to their own devices they could go off the rails again.

Imagine Disney would be pretty involved with them, but then again their whole approach to Star Wars so far has been surprisingly lazy and unorganized.

Hmmm... Godzilla reaction is splitting people.
In a nutshell, the complaint for Gareth Edwards film was not enough Godzilla.
Now, the complaint is too much Godzilla!

My brain hurts.
Also, it’s been said that the Star Wars land at Disney, is focused on the sequel trilogy and don’t have much reference to the O.T.?
I haven’t read everything, but it sounds bizarre, and people are said to be disappointed with the experience.

I remember going to the Empire Strikes Back secret cinema, and that was a lot of fun.
Why would Disney make a theme park without reference to the O.T.
How amazing would a cloud city be, or a Death Star?.
But hey, let’s go Canto Bight so I can watch a mutated Lama run around!! Yay!

Well Godzilla...

I just do not fall asleep watching films, struggle to even when I try purposely if the Mrs is watching something rubbish.

But I had to fight it during this. Maybe it’s because I’ve not slept well for a few nights with a cold, plus being up earlier than usual for work this week.. maybe.

But that film was boring as feck. Disappointed. Very cringe a lot of the dialogue, the fights for me didn’t actually look that great other than a few really lovely shots. Was hard to concentrate on them at time, and yeah, it just dragged on and on.

Ok then.. Shazam it is.

Oh man Mike. Really that bad?!.
Done by the trailers again. Now, i’ve just seen ‘The Kitchen’ trailer, and it looks very good.. but have i just fallen for the Ad again?!
But the images in this Godzilla looked amazing. Great cast. How? How do you screw it up.
Its not feckin’ The Godfather’, Its about a bloody giant lizard thingy?!?

Godzilla did look great tbf.

I just got really really bored throughout the whole film, it was a bit of a slugfest to the end, felt like 3 hours imo even though it was just over 2.

That's why I was surprised I was bored because I usually have the same view as you on these kind of films. It's popcorn cinema entertainment and I know that, I can switch off and enjoy stuff like that at the cinema usually.

There was ALOT of monsters just charging about, with the odd bits of poor filler between.

Maybe I was harsh because I felt like shiyte, I'll re-watch it when it streams one day.

Robert Pattinson the new Batman.

Now lets just wait and see if they cast Kristen Stewart to play a woke version of ‘Joker’...

I joke i joke. Was never hosting the Oscars anyway..
Looks like a good choice. I don’t think i would’ve thought of him to play the part, but this could be a genius move by Matt Reeves.
The Batman -
Now the question is, is DECU still a thing...

Certainly an intriguing choice but I am a fan of Matt Reeves and I cannot see him picking Pattison unless he fits the image he requires for Batman.

It's called Worlds of DC now Stringer. And I think that this new Reeves trilogy will be it's own thing. Like the Nolan trilogy was. And like the upcoming Joker movie will be as well. All separate stories.

Based on the casting of Pattinson (good actor) and with this movie being a more grounded, noir detective story I'd say that Reeves wants this to be something that will be compared to the Nolan trilogy.

Oh right ok, Worlds of DC...
well, solo films have been Warner’s strength, so hopefully they recognise chasing `marvel is a foolish exercise. Warner/DC can have the same success, just make a damn good story.
