hey Superb, how did i miss that convo about Spacey.
just my 2 cents, but i watched Glen Gary Glen Ross and the Negotiator a few days ago.
i've already told friends, that Spacey has been in some great films, and i can't imagine never watching them again.
not neccessarily cos of Spacey, but there are other great actors in the films as well, and well, as i've said, some truly great films.
and i will continue to watch regardless.

and put respect on Tom Cruise's name! you know the man is flying that jet!

Yes, i read that. And i understand its the code she has, not the name Bond.
Which, in that case, the idea 007 is just a rank, makes sense.

Think they might’ve missed a trick in Licence to Kill when the Double O was revoked. So for most of the film he’s just, normal guy named James Bond.
When he goes off the reservation, they should’ve sent another 007 after him..

It was clear from the outset this actress getting 007 was a plot point not a franchise switch

But they knew what they were doing with the promotion. It's an obvious tactic now to try and spark media attention

The whole thing about Bond being too old has been in like the last 3 movies though. Bit tired of it

Yeah, agreed. But could be worse than that. A quote from the writer said, Bond had to stay true to how his character was written even in 2019, it’s even more relevant.
So at first I’m like cool, then thought, oh no, they’re not gonna throw him under the bus saying he’s a sexist dinosaur and the like!
We’ve been there with Pierce Brosnan.
I haven’t watched any of Miss Waller-Bridge’s work.
Killing Eve meant to be good. But then she did play the woke droid in Solo, so, this could go pear shape.

Stringer yeah that could have been a cool idea in Licence to Kill. We've seen other 00 agents pop up before but it's never been explored much before, certainly not someone else getting Bond's 007 status.

Blarms yeah obviously they've gone for maximum shock value. Seems like a missed opportunity they could have made Idris Elba the new 007 in this movie. At least we'd have seen him play 007 if not Bond himself. Or maybe I'm clutching at straws here

I don’t think I've gotten over Joe Carnahan stealing my ‘The 7 Assassins’ idea for his crapfest ‘Smoking Aces’!!

But then ‘The Predator’ came out and that made me think again, cos i know my version was better. And i thought of that back in 1991!!

So how do you write a version where 007 agent hunts down Bond?
Oohh, i think they missed that opportunity in the last one. Bonds retired, drinking on a beach. Spectre reveal themselves in acts of terrorism. Blofeld is framing Bond. MI6 think Bond is rogue. Bond goes on the run. New 007 agent sent after him. Cue action set pieces.
But then its found out that, new director guy whose trying to get rid of M and the 00s is the bad guy, hes the one in cahoots with Blofeld. 007 and Bond eventually team up to take down Blofeld and the corrupt Director dude.. (the guy that played Moriaty).

Does that work?

Man, i totally forgot to watch the rest of Narcos Mexico. I saw 2 Episodes i think... oh man! Thanks for the reminder guys.

Sounds good to me Stringer. Daniel Craig and Idris Elba working together to take down Moriarty dude. Maybe that way Idris Elba's character could start his own spinoff franchise as the new 007. Even if he isn't actually Bond.
