What a film Joker was. Just watched it earlier, Phoenix smashed it. I’ve never enjoyed a Joker performance like that since Ledger. It’s absolutely brutal though, especially the last 40 mins. Some questions though..
What the hell happened to the girlfriend? And the bloody footsteps at the end, I’m guessing he killed the doctor too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think you need to watch it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lol I was gonna say

To be fair to him, the relationship was fabricated in his mind, but there were certain scenes that occurred in 'reality'.
For example, the elevator scene: it happened.
The scene toward the end where she finds him in her apartment: it happened.
I think that's what he is asking and it was deliberately left ambiguous by the Director.
So too the last scene (therapist). It implies that he kills here, but such is the mind of the Joker that the film leaves it up to the audience to decide if any of the preceding two hours was true at all, or just another of the Joker's calumnies about his origin.
think he definitely killed the girl, but imagined killing the therapist
Rooney it wasn't left ambigious though, as it done a quick flashback montage of all those memories and she wasn't there remember?

Nick, the scenes where she was his girlfriend and they were together at the comedy club etc. I agree were completely made up. But that isn't to say that the character (can't remember her name) was made up altogether.
In my view, she was a real person who did live in his building and had a kid etc. The scenes in the elevator (beginning_ and when he's in her apartment (toward the end) are real, and that's why she knew who he was when he's in her apartment, but didn't know him well or intimately (as we were led to believe previously).
She says something like (paraphrasing here):
"you're that guy from down the hall...who lives with his mother...I need you to leave...please...my kid...."
Then he does the gun mime again and the next scene we see, he's sat back in his own apartment, leaving us wondering whether he just left or whether he killed her (and presumably the kid) and then left.
Yeah that's exactly as I pictured it, like I said not ambigious at all.
Whether he murdered her or not is obviously not certain. But it was a good reveal that it was all made up.
When she was flirting with him and let him get with her etc I was baffled man haha.
Sorry, to be clear, I was saying that the ambiguity derived from whether he killed her or not.
Totally agree she was never his gf / had 'the tasty times' with him.
Yeah, at first I was like "this girl is actually banging; why's she getting with this creep!?"
SPOILERS BTW
Don't read anything past the below comment if you haven't yet seen The Joker;
"What a weird and terrible way to watch a film
If you haven't got time to watch it then pick something shorter "
Once you get to that, skip it and move to the end

Yeah I was due to finish it before I got to work but the train stopped and we had to get off
It's not bad, if it's a filler then great. if it's the end then meh
El Camino was fantastic, not too long or short. I loved the flashbacks of Jesse with the old characters. Breaking Bad is the best tele series in history, I miss it so much.
I can’t wait for someone to do a Trumo movie, especially after he’s removed from office. So much great material

I got so bored with it, couldn’t finish it......
It’s one of the toughest questions out there though..... ‘What’s your favourite series?’
Reckon mines probably The Sopranos. I was so relieved that they kind of left it open to film it again but then Gandofini goes and dies 😢

I would not call it a movie but more like 2-3 episodes of Breaking Bad into one. It was never going to be high octane action. It gets a high rating for Breaking bad nostalgia but if this just a standalone movie it wont have even made it to cinema.

having seen the breaking bad movie yet, hopefully it ties up the loose ends, after watching deadwood i enjoyed that "movie" which went full circle and gave the show some closure

Sopranos passed me by first time out...then I Wat he'd 2 episodes got hooked on series 5...went right back and watched the lot
Same with the Wire
El Camino was decent
A satisfying conclusion to the only real big loose end
We can do a Sopranos spoiler thread
I want to know where everyone stands on the ending theories
It cut to black didn’t it. He dead.
Now if it was The Wire, that would’ve been Kenard rolling up on Tony there, and then taken a piece of his chicken aswell after blasting him!
By the way, never watched sopranos
Your low key favourite wire characters?
I'll start
De'Londa Brice
She might be the best villain in the whole show
