I didn't think much of once upon a time in Hollywood.

Decent watch overall but not more than 6/10
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would give it a strong 7/10, which for means it is an excellent film - certainly one of the best from 2018.

Anything above 7 are for my favourite films of all time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair enough mate. I suppose it's all.about personal choice.

I really liked H8 and many others didn't so much for a QT movie.

I would rate that higher

Weirdly I thought it was a good joke/comment about Hollywood - the stunt man does all the hard work and the actor gets the credit with flashy finish

But I get your point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, this is how I interpreted it. I felt otherwise it would have been genius.

I feel the flame thrower might have been a reference to his other work, or a chance to show the character growth.

I really liked DiCaprio's character, I felt at the start of the movie I would find him annoying but in actual fact felt a lot of sympathy for him.

I'd give it a 9, but I am a more generous rater than Black Hawk, I give a fair number of 10s.

Probably because I have a slight understanding of how badly wrong film-making can go. Having once spectacularly failed to make a film five years ago with various friends. A story for another day
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have the mindset that I have yet to see a perfect movie, so all my favourite films are 9s.

Anything above a 7 would be usually one of the best films of the year.

I feel this was one of QT more intelligent movies, I have much more thoughts on it than I did with either H8 or Django.

It was slow in parts, but I feel all those scenes served a point to develop character. I really liked the scene where DiCaprio misses his line and where he is hanging out with the kid.

Yes they don't really serve much the plot but were important in making DiCaprio sympathetic

Difficult to rate a film 10 out of 10 I'd have thought...such a personal thing

Citizen Kane regularly gets voted the greatest film of all time...I wonder how many have actually seen it...I haven't

Look at the Shawshank Redemption...was quite overlooked when it was released...it's a huge favourite now

Putting it nicely. I think I'll skip it. The original still holds up as dark and gritty masterpiece. A bit ironic as it manages to make the projects during the day seem like an absolutely scary setting. Not many horror films can do that. Philip Glass composition and Clive Barker story was always going to be a force.

Indeed, my interest would be based on how it stands up to the iconic original, and that peele has a bit of talent as a director.

The reflection on the car window, is that the original CandyMan?
Was never a fan, but the premise sure scared kids.

Ok, must be a prequel then.
Looks ok. I take it this is not part of Universals Dark Universe. Or is that dead now after The Mummy?

Me n my brothers get together every now and again and on this get together it was to watch the Irishman.

It was the wrong movie to watch. Didn't like it

Will watch it again on my own soon to give it a realistic mark out of 10.
