I agree with you, Andre.

I also fancy Liverpool for top 4. In my opinion they lack a bit creativity in midfield and their defense look vulnerable to me.

I know Firminio from Hoffenheim and I think he is very good signing for them allthough it remains to be seen how quickly he adapt to the PL.

Upfront they look good to me. I like Benteke and Sturridge if he somehow gets fit will be a very good pair upfront.

Liverpool's main weaknesses:

1) Lack of natural width & pace in attack. If they have Coutinho & Firmino/Lallana as WFs, their play will be very narrow & predictable.

2) Lack of skill & creativity in MF. Henderson isn't a top player and never will be. Milner likewise. None of their midfielders can dibble a lick (unless Coutinho plays there like last season).

3) Rodgers preference for the diamond. I actually want Liverpool to do this with Sturridge & Benteke. They'll be entertaining to watch, but so open defensively that they'll be no threat to the Top 4.

Liverpool won matches when they were very quick back to front.

They are now slow.

Think they have made some good signing as shoud do alot better this season.

Henderson and Milner in MF is very workmanlike.

no - they've made some good signings agreed but they dont have anyone that can manage them

Arsenal beat Chelsea in CS & suddenly there fans are experts, FFS.

I don't think they'll be far off top 4 and could even pip Utd if things go their way.

Summer they're all pretty fast apart from Benteke, who isn't as slow as many make out.

Does that mean you disagree?

Sturidge and benteke on their day could be very dangerous against us. Kos isn't always the best against big strong forwards, and mert isn't great at quick players.

But I think their defence and midfield are weak points. Not the best creativity, and they'll still struggle to keep clean sheets. But they are stronger than last year.

Don't think our midfield lacks creativity, Henderson got 10 assists in the PL last season despite being asked to be hold so Gerrard could roam, being shafted to RB/RWB for parts of the season, and us not having a decent striker. Milner got 7, Firmino and Coutinho are creative.

We'll struggle in defence though, which could be our downfall. Rodgers doesn't like playing a DM (and as Arsenal have found out makes a huge difference), Mignolet is pretty average and we persist with Skrtel and Lovren, who are bad individually and worse as a pair.

Liverpool remind me a of of Arsenal 07-11 . Lots of small technical players who know how to make it look good, a big striker, very young squad but quite average at the back.

We were the same. in Midfield we had a lot of creativity in Rosicky, Nasri, Arshavin, Hleb and ofcourse Fabregas. Adebayor upfront who at his best was similar to Benteke. We never had a good keeper and our defense looked good on paper but never quite worked as a unit

not being funny or rude but I doubt we will drop out of Top 3 in near future atleast till AW is our manager (unless we get 3-4 long term injuries to key players in the middle of the season). So it's between Utd and Lpool for 4th spot for coming few years (2-4 seasons).

Lpool have made signings however like someone mentioned above they lack quality manager. I don't see BR as a world class manager who will win trophies for Lpool. Strurridge is very weak and injury prone, Benteke is hot and cold. Firmhino is not Sanchez and doubt he will carry Lpool on his shoulder straight into his first season. Also despite of weakness in defense Lpool haven't bought anyone to fix those holes.

Interesting season ahead.

I think we're well set personally.

I fully expect last years signings to kick on and Ibe looks like he can play.

I expect big seasons from Henderson and Coutinho who improve year on year also.

Apparently Sturridge's op has worked and that should be the end of his though and hip problems.

All in all we need some things to go our way but, and not to get all GB on you, I doubt many will fancy coming up against Benteke, Sturridge, Coutinho and Firmino.

People saying that Henderson and Milner aren't creative are mistaken.

They may not be full of fancy tricks or flair players but they contribute to goals over a season.
They can also control the midfield.

Henderson needs to produce in big games more often and also has a tendency to go missing when we are a goal down.

Hendo is captain this year, he can do what you say Kash, his performance v Toure shows this, with the captains armband he will step up.

I fancy Liverpool for the top 4 ahead of United however I can't remember too many sides making in it without at least 1 world class player. They're usually the difference and sometimes not enough (see Bale - Spurs)

Sturridge is capable of a world class season, mind and for me a lot is dependent on him. I want them ahead of United tbh so hope they click

Nah top 4 will be same as last year, the order may change. United were gàsh last year but they were in a transitional period, players will be more used to LvG's bullshiiiít and they have the resources to strengthen in January if they struggle.

Personally, I think they are a world class striker and CB from being major players in the title race, as of now I can't see them finishing higher than 3rd but definitely can't see then finishing below 4th. Clyne and Benteke are good signings for Liverpool, the rest don't impress me and let's not forget, despite the ridiculous hype around Sterling and Gerrard, they were liverpool's top scorers last season in a team that struggled for goals.

world class is too freely handed out.

there are only two world class players in the league (aguero and hazard) ie, they would get into any team in the world
there are lots of good players, but wouldnt class anyone else as world class.

As for our team, we have two potential 20+ goal strikers, something that would have had us walk top 4 last year had we had them.
Add to that a proper right back to replace the johnson, the emergence of Ibe and Can to now compete in centre mid, means we are most certainly in the mix

That's a poor definition of world-class, too stringent, and you haven't applied it accurately.

Hazard definitely wouldn't get into the Barca (Neymar & Messi) or Real (Ronaldo & Bale) teams. Aguero wouldn't get into the Barca side (Suarez).

Sanchez is the best player in the PL. His all-round game is better than Aguero & he's more effective than Hazard.
