He's about 21 years younger than Heskey and he can hit the back of the net!!!!
Jamie Thomas.
Should have been on earlier certainly.
I'm not 100% convinced that if Forest hadn't scored Dobbie would've been introduced at all. Maybe he needs to start with Madine against Blackburn on Friday. Have Clough as more of an impact sub.
I admit my last comment is rather stating the obvious as I'd lost all track of the time he came on. Maybe that was due to actually witnessing a goal.
I dunno.
We know we need quality money isn't going to appear from anywhere. Accept the inevitable we are going to have to fall down the leagues at some point. Might as well let Neil Lennon soldier on as long as he can stand it see if he can slow the speed of the drop until he can get out.
Surely Bolton can find someone anywhere in the lower leagues, Scot!and, abroad thats better than madine and heskey. Down the years Bolton have found goalscorers and they have not cost a lot of money- John Thomas, Tony philliskirk, Andy walker, super John, Michael ricketts, Kevin Davies..
The days of finding gems in the lower leagues that don't cost a lot are probably gone. All the good ones have fees that are over inflated that even if we did have the cash we'd flat out refuse to pay.
Would be nice to see Woolery - the guy we got from Tamworth - get a bit more of a chance. We'll also have to see what happens when Clayton returns and what that does for the attacking dynamic.
Lennon said on sky sports news he has brought dobbie to the club because he is a great finisher but only put him on in injury time
A fit Clayton would add even more pace to the attack but surely the board could help Lennon a little.
Nobody can do everthing with nothing,
The Tim Ream money won't make that much differance to the debt, but it could make all the differance in keeping Lennon ,
An inch in time saves nine
But I can go back a long time, when have the board ever speculated to accumulate , NEVER
No transfer fees in two years. We should be doing exactly what Blackpool are doing. It's time to make it very uncomfortable for PG, in fact toxic. Just like the Bolton books.
Time to send Madine to finishing school. What a big girls blouse of a penalty and a non ironed girls blouse at that with a follow up header.
Has the girl got some phobia about scoring with the 'ed that has spread to the boot.
Drop him anybody who we have a pair of boots for and can stand upright for 90 minutes will do.
I am now banned from watching highlights on a Sunday morning thanks to that useless ****
Unless we sign anyone else would be tempted to play Clough up top and play a different way and use dobbie and Silva and hopefully Clayton soon just off him. Thought the long ball forward to madine was overused at times. Keep him on the bench and use him as a different option in certain games.
That will do Benny for Madine there's a bench up at Lake Windermere near the old steam boats he can sit there well out the way waving to the enthusiasts asking them to blow the whistles wearing his Johan Sweden shirt.
It's the 1st time we have seen Dobbie maybe he could have a bit more game time now he as shown Lennon what he can do, it was a decent goal I would prefer him to Heskey when we need a goal. At least till we get some of the other players fit ,Like Pratley and Clayton.
I also think Dobbie would have scored the penalty had he been on the pitch ,but maybe to knackered to score the goal in injury time 😒.

That final comment is grossly incorrect. The whole problem and reason for the debt is speculating to accumulate. Spending a whole load of money on players. The issue is, it didnt pay off

To what end?
With or without PG there is no money for players for many years to come. I'd prefer it without PG. Bit different here where PG doesn't have the ultimate nod like the estate agent by the sea.
Does the guy earn his crust at Bolton ? no he has aided and been an integral part of the demise of our club make like hard enough we might just get the message across to the man who can give him a nudge or force him to go.
Do you want to be broke with no funding with PG or without him is the question. If you want it without him make it as toxic as possible for him give it a go. We got nowt to lose and might just gain something by a newcomer running the show. He should have walked on many occasions in a similar nature to Npower today who announced sock results the boss has gone he made a mess of it.
U21s are at the Macron tonight. May pop over and see who's a possible bench warmer for the first team this season. 7pm ko. Haven't been to watch the reserves since it was called the reserves in 1995.
I see that young Jamie Thomas has been given a squad number, (40), after being named in the matchday squad on Saturday.
BwfcClegg / there was no real need to spend money
To the extent it was spent , Eddie was happy enough lending money at 7/10 per cent interest, him and P.G.
Should instead have been running the club as a business not a jolly, and letting the club get way out of control, because of that we are in the state were in now and they just want there money back , best of both worlds.
He didn't run moon shift investments like he ran the fooball club that's for sure ,they speculated without accumulating .
Make it toxic. We will never sell with him there. He won't give up power so won't sell unless the status quo for him remains. He has ruined us with someone else's money.
Madine, I agree Gartside has to go but if Ed wants some of his money back, he may have no option but to get rid of Gartside. It depends on the the thoughts of the buyer/investor.
The trouble is there has been no news on potential investor of any note. Is there still anyone interested? Was anyone ever interested? Who knows, certainly not us lot.
If anyone was interested they would have been looking for a very good deal. That would have meant Ed taking a sizable hit on the debt.
Will that ever happen?

Exactly my point!
So to say they havent speculated to accumulate is incorrect. They did a whole load of speculation - it didnt pay off. We arent unique, it isnt unusual.
Someone said there wasnt a need to do it......well, there simply was....the squad was aging, numerous key players left, they spent heavily on younger players, but ultimately the model wasn't sustainable without premiership football. We went down by the skin of our teeth. These are the margins we are talking about.
Its a combination of things, not a singular item that has caused it. Some (what was only learnt in hindsight) bad management appointments, some contract mismanagement. But counter to that, theres plenty of long term good that Gartside has done. He brought Eddie Davies in, he was there when we were in europe. he invested in the academy, he is looking at long term business solutions to increase revenue, to support the footballing activities.
Its far to easy to just chuck blame at someone, without taking long term balanced view
We left the premiership carrying a manageable debt and the remainder of the stadium mortgage. On allowing the debt to rise from the acceptable level to the current which has ruined the club and may take over 20 years to recover from is PG's watch he rolled the dice played a game he is the scapegoat not just for the fans. Ed wins when he says game over.
Don't shed a tear for Phil he had many a chance to speak and bail out just as he knew the budgets and contract should have been managed better under his watch but that is only minor in relation to the real issues which are not wholly down to footballing side of the business.
Sign in if you want to comment
May as well give him some game time
