Amsterdam was brilliant, will definitely go back for longer next time as you didn’t get that much time there doing the ferry trip. Was a good laugh though and a decent p**s up on the boat both ways.

Got home Sunday evening in the end even though we got into the port quite early as we carried on drinking in Hull (what a massive shiiiit hole that place is, even compared to Sheff) but still felt horrific Monday morning so had the day off. That led to me being busy at work all week. Got behind on a few things and missed a big deadline, nothing that I couldn’t sort out in a bit extra time once I’d talked it over etc but still doesn’t look too good given I had a decent pay increase a few months back.

So, on top of being under the cosh at work (which was the reason I stayed off JA for the first week) my old man called round for a beer on the Friday last week and told me he’d been diagnosed with prostate cancer a few months back and has a start date for his first round of chemo which is the reason he's finally told me.

I got p****d off at him for not telling me sooner as I see him quite a lot, have beers with him, got to United games with him, and had an argument and left. I then felt bad when I got half way home, picked up some food and a crate and went back round to his, he said there was no point telling me until he knew how serious it was etc, which was fair enough. Ended up getting hammered and stayed the weekend like old times

So yeah, been off here all this week too just keeping my head down and getting on with work (which I’m pretty much caught up with now).

Heads been a mess.

Have had a bit of a read every now and again if I’ve had a look at a match thread, and have checked in here (which has been pretty boring to be honest guys ffs).

But anyway, I didn’t die in Amsterdam so you can call off the search and Shaun can spend his weekend how he pleases rather than searching Sheffield.

Thanks for the concern.

I’ll be back on again more often eventually, not had my account cancelled or anything by Adders, just taking a break.

Hope everything gets sorted pal... obviously the important things (like work and other parts of 'real life' are way more important than here

A lack of membership does contribute to the poor showing recently, however

I dread the day I have to receive the same news. I'm sure we all do.

I still have both parents. Don't worry about much and don't get hung up on negative things if I can, but that is the one thing I am truly dreading, illness or death of immediate family.

Hope your Dad smashes the chemo, I've not done any research into it but I'm sure prostate is one of the more manageable ones?

Can see why you got mad with your Dad, mate, but as an outsider I can see your Dad's point also.
