But we will get there, LVG knows how to release the handbrake and play attacking football (some of the games at the end of last season were testament to that)

Against relegated Hull I don't think we had a shot on target until the 90th min.

Op

It is appaarent you don't understand Sir Alex quote properly.

Either that, or you do understand it but are intentionally twisting it's meaning to suit your defence of van Gaal.

Might be a good chance to learn something if you close your mouth and open your ears lad.

Last year 38 0-0's would have seen you finish 16th and the season before 14th.

But to help you, here is a brief explination of my problem with our style of play right now.

Louis van Gaal's system is all about stopping our opponents from beating us, but we don't do anything like enough to try and beat them. He tries to attack teams safely, and so limits our offensive capability and makes teams fear us less. Which makes them believe they can beat us. Which puts us in a dangerous position.

Louis van Gaal is not brave or bold enough to lead Manchester United. He is not a winner.

Basically, for all his talk his football has shown absolutely no balls whatsoever. He plays football like a pusy.

And the reason why certain of our defenders have looked so imopressive this season is because they have had two DM's sat right in front of them who have not moved from their position.

What made Rio and Vidic good is that they only needed one CM (not DM) and they backed themselves when 1 v 1 against any attacker.

Goals win you games and you won't win a title without winning games. We aren't scoring goals, therefore we won't win the title

Quite a big game for LVG this next one.

Utd could be top of the league or outside the top four.

If Utd did drop out you'd see people go for him I reckon so a little pres sure there. Already stories coming out of the dressing.

Thing is I doubt he cares.

How dare you make such an intelligent and well thought out post.

Who cares about clean sheets and maybe being top of the league?

We want to lose every game 5-3 and be entertained god damn it

It is perfectly fine moaning about the style of play AND giving the manager the full backing and understanding the bigger picture.

Why does the internets always have to try and put people in Camp A or Camp B?

posted on 27/11/15

Our defence has clear improved a great deal and LVG deserves credit for that but people act as if our defence is incredible, it isn't.

We have only conceded 2 less than both Spurs and Arsenal and in de Gea have IMO by far the best keeper in the league (Courtois ain't far but he's been injured all season).

The defence is sound but it has a direct link to our poor offensive game. You need the right balance and for me we are too negative which results in a solid defence but leaves us lacking up top.

We act like we're Stoke City (no offence) with our tactics, keep it tight at the back and hope to nick a goal. That's the mentality of teams who have major limitations so have to work on being organised rather than fluid expansive attacking football.

I know we have a great chance to be top of the table by tomorrow but our football is just so depressing to watch. And with the funds and players we have it really isn't much to ask for a more offensive football rather than this negative stuff I'd expect from a Pulis or Big Sam side.

You are highly unlikely to win a game unless you keep a clean sheet, but you can easily win games without scoring a goal, that's why defence is far more important, than attack and scoring a goal is often not a risk worth taking if you want to win a match.

Beto Naveda's right. Maybe not easily, but you can win without scoring, I feel this is LVG's thinking too.

I want to be entertained. It's like the walk to the gallows every other week at the moment.

If, as you say, we start scoring more because we start playing more positively do you really think we'll automatically let 5 in?
