I think mcgregor will be hoping the cowboy wins this weekend hence a stand up fight. dos anjos is a beast who i think would take Conor down and keep him down.
Chad was able to pass Conors guard at will at 145 and keep him down. Conor will have problems with any good fighter that wants to keep it on the ground at 155.
I think people forget that we seen the worst ever Conor against Mendes, he was Injured and had an awful weight cut.
Now I'm not saying people wont be able to take him at 155 coz some will, but it wont be easy and doing it for 5 rounds without gassing out will be extremely difficult, and when he gets back up he'll only be a few punches away from finishing them.
Khabib would be my biggest concern.
Sjb agree totally on Khabib. I can't see Dana letting Conor go anywhere near him unless it was a final eliminator or for the 155 belt it self.

Guv, you can't see Edger moving up again for the big money fight if Conor decides to stay at 155? Kavanagh has already told Dana he doesn't want to see Conor at 145 again. For health reasons he should concentrate at 155. People forget that Conor walks around between 170 and 175. That's a huge cut.
As for a Mendez vs Aldo trilogy, the second fight was up there as fight of the year imo. Still see Aldo getting a points win.

I too was left somewhat cheated by the McGregor vs Aldo fight. In that, the 11 month build-up had me all in a frenzy come fight night/morning. My initial reaction was ...'13 seconds? Nooo, I want 5 rounds of war ffs'.
Vs Aldo, that could be the only title defense I see Conor making at FW. He loves his "numbers" and that fight would simply dwarf the 10.1m made at the MGM's 16,000 seater. Crowpark with it's 80,000 seats? ....telephone book numbers.
Conor certainly has the power to test a lot at 155. But if that power doesn't get through and he's up against a technically strong jujitsu fighter i.e Khabib, then I feel he'll be embarrassingly exposed. I don't think Dana would want to throw his "cash cow" to the wolves quite so soon, so I don't envisage that fight happening in 2016. He'll wait until Northcutt (Dana's new toy) get's a few more wins before he dispenses with Conor. Seen him? Kid can fight.

Also what is the bull crap about Rousey getting an immediate rematch and Aldo not? This is what peeves me off about the UFC. It's turned into a circus and a popularity contest, Dana changing the rules to suit some whilst others have to adhere to another set of rules.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think Ronda should get a rematch, she got thoroughly outclassed.
Aldo probably deserves a rematch, but to be honest this fight has dominated the MMA landscape for about a year now, I've had my fill, Edgar is the only fight at FW, Aldo should take a rest and come back to fight Holloway.
Then maybe the rematch will be something to look forward too.

Good call on the Holloway vs Aldo. Holloway isn't really going to be too much of a threat to Aldo, but a good warm up all the same. Hollway is a long fighter and Aldo could well use the experience if he was ever to face Conor again.
Guv
Ronda aside, the only other viable good PPV fight out there at 135 for Holmes is Cyborg. Thing is, is she able or willing to meet Holly at a lower weight - without the juice? Tate? That would be like a mother putting an ass whipping to her daughter.
It's pretty much nailed on that Ronda is out of her depth and 9/10 times loses to Holly. This is where greed takes over, Dana and Lorenzo most likely know she'll lose to her all day long, but will still stop at nothing to squeeze the last PPV dollar out of Ronda by setting up the rematch asap before she changes her mind and calls it a day. She took a physical and a more psychological beating at 193. She may retire, wouldn't surprise me.
An Aldo vs Mendes III would do a hell of a lot of damage to Chads ufc career if he was to lose yet again. Could be 4 losses in 5 fights. Maybe they both need to avoid each other.... In steps Holloway.

Didn't this all happen pre 189 sometime in june or was this a reoccurrence for the 194 fight?
Holm's reach would keep Tate within head kick range. I see that nothing but a one sided affair. Tate likes to get inside and if Ronda couldn't, she doesn't have much of a chance.

On the contrary, I want to see a round 2 even more because it last only 13 seconds after all the hype. Holloway? Aldo would crush him, I think he needs to have a 3rd fight with Mendes who is also coming off a loss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I could see a rematch quick, like next month, then yes i'd like to see that, but I'm done with the Aldo v McGregor hype, it went on too long, I can't stomach another 6 month build up.
Holloway would be a nice test for Jose in a comeback fight.
I see Conor beating Edgar within 2 rounds, but I think Conor is thinking legacy, he wan't both belts at once, he'd probably vacate the 145 title before to long, but he wants that on his resume.
Aldo needs a different match before a McGregor rematch, get him going again then it will be one hell o a rematch

They wan't Conor on the Madison square garden card and then UFC 200, if the New York show happens I expect Conor to fight this weekends winner and then Frankie at UFC 200.
As long as injuries permit of course.
yeah I saw that, Its hard to know what injurys are true anymore, lots seem tactical for either money or an advantage
bit risky to have him fight at 198 and 200 as there is only 2 and a half month between the.
2 nice fights on this weekend with overeem vs dos santos and dos anjos vs cerrone, hope cerrone wins if mcgregor is to go up, cerrone would be a really fun match up for him. Nate Diaz is back too vs someone i think
How can a great like Aldo not deserve an immediate rematch?
All deposed champions deserve an immediate rematch IMO.
