The palps vs Windu and the council was always a throwaway scene for me. It was just a way to show Anakin taking the final step.

Agreed that Palpatine vs Maul and Savage was the best lightsaber fight we have seen from Palpatine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted more of Windu, he should have had more action in ep2. Ep2 should have been more clone wars orientated in general. Imagine some of the clone wars 2003 & 2008 content but in live action?

Bit of Windu with shatter point and vapaad yeeeeees

I’m not sure I entirely buy into palps letting Windu win to help turn Anakin even though George confirmed the same.

When the prequels came out, there was plenty of criticism but my god if we only knew what filth was to come years later in the form of sequels…..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Windu in the 2003 show was at his finest and his involvement in the clone wars tv show was great too. I think his role in the movies was limited intentionally, as they wanted to focus more on Anakin/Obi Wan.

I think in a pure saber fight, Windu would beat Palpatine but in terms of mastery of the force, Palpatine was the king. He allowed himself to be disfigured by Windu because he wanted to turn Anakin but he also wanted to use it as proof that the jedi had attacked him. It's the same way Palpatine played Dookue against Anakin until the last moment and then Palpatine instructed Anakin to kill him, without any remorese. Palpatine was a master puppeteer and his intelligence and ability to move the chess pieces around the board without others suspecting him of foul play was utter genius.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlimited power in wumming too. He had sith artefacts in his office as chancellor lol

The Jedi really were an arrogant bunch at that point. Purge was fully deserved

#teampapapalps
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The jedi were a cult and like every other cult, their own hubris and delusion was their downfall.

I was team jedi but the clone wars tv show changed that for me.

I’m sure most on here will have seen it but some Star Wars buffs reimagined the IV lightsaber battle between OWK and DV.

https://youtu.be/to2SMng4u1k

I’m hopeful in the new OWK release the light saber battles will be more like this, physical affairs where you can get a sense of the exertion involved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Without clicking it I’m sure I know the one it is.

I HATE YOU at the end

It is good I have to say
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And to be fair rogue 1 at the end with Vader trying to get the Death Star plans was brutal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow! I’ve never seen that. That was amazing. The speed at which they fight, I expect in Kenobi.
But that was epic.

The way I view it is different eras bred different saber styles.

So in the originals, they moved slower and with less skill because there was never a need to be good with the lightsaber. Vader had already carried out the purge and probably never had any use of his lightsaber outside of rare situations. Same goes for Obi Wan. Luke had trained with the lightsaber but his only actual fight was against Vader in empire and then Vader again, in ROTJ.

Now if we look at the clone wars era, this was a time where jedi knowledge was at its peak and their skills were being honed in battle on a consistent basis. Dooku only became a skilled swordsmen because he had a skilled teacher like Yoda. Same goes for Anakin.

Worth noting that Vader is half machine, so it wouldn't be easy for him to manuevre and carry out acrobatics. I think his attacks should be pure aggression and brute strength, as we know from the books that he was in perpetual pain, when in the suit and it was only his recovery tank that gave him restbite.

Obi-Wan starting tomorrow? Nice.

Hopefully this will have bigger stakes than Boba, and doesn't completely revamp his story.

I will be so cross if they mess up my favourite SW character. Would be a real pain in the neck.

2 episodes at midnight U.S time on Disney+

I'm excited for Obi Wan but I would implore people to temper their expectations surrounding Vaders involvement. If you're expecting lightsaber fights,Vader hunting jedi, Vader appearing in more than 3 episodes or seeing a load of other jedi, I suspect you will be disappointed.

I think the main villains will be the inquisitors and Obi wan will be balancing his failure with trying to remain hidden and keeping Luke protected.

This. Totally. In fact, I have no expectations with the story. Just want them to knock it out the park, and re-establish Star Wars as the greatest franchise!!

I don't expect much Vader, maybe a couple of flashbacks and a confrontation but otherwise I think the shadow of Vader can be menacing enough without having to see him too often.

The extended clip of Obi-Wan talking to Owen seemed promising though. McGregor really finding the voice of Guiness too

I cannot wait for the interactions between Owen and Obi Wan. The clip alone conveys so much.

Yep, a lot of potential for Owen as an interesting character too that hasn't been explored. They've got the potential to make his fate in ANH seem much more tragic and if a show can add value to the lore rather than stomp all over the existing lore, then it's really done it's job IMO
