Yes, well, for me, i’m on board. Her track record deserves respect. Give her a chance to correct a few things. I dont think this new deal is like a ringing endorsment from Disney. For now, Its maybe the smart, practical route to go down. Hopefully all this has been an eye opener for Kennedy.

Shes not stupid. Nor is Bob Iger. I think the situaion with the greenlit projects is too much for someone else to come in and oversee in a short time.
I think its 3 years and shes out. But by then, everything shes approved would’ve launched. So makes it easier for her successor. I do have a feeling that Rians project might get canned. And that Bob has an idea who will take over, but that they will be free in 3 years time.

But Kath better listen and take on board the general criticims out there, cos people are ready to take it out on Ep 9.

Biggest piece of steaming crap I've read in a while. Kennedy is awful and this is terrible news.

Anybody and I mean anybody could have made an episode 7 that would make billions. And there are three reasons for that and they are Mark Hammill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Not Kathleen Kennedy. All she has done is brought the old characters back, and butchered them along with the whole franchise

I'm just saying, i think it's the best way to go, (from a business point of view) than just pull the trigger, now that would be a mess.. Kennedy has power in Hollywood. This has to be amicable, or it could turn into a PR disaster for Disney, especially so soon after Gunn.
You are already seeing the 'phasing out' in action,she's going to be just as quiet as she has been all year.
Ease her out, take time and plan a new vision, In 3 years they will be ready with a solid plan, than just making it up on the fly...

Wow this is the most depressed chat room that I’ve seen in a while.

But I agree tbh, I was expecting someone to take Star Wars to the next level! Keep the essence of Star Wars but have some originality too... A lot like how Rogue One approached it.

I also expected the rebels to be the republic too, you know how the storyline was in the last episode?

I was also looking forward to some good lightsaber battles too

It all boils down to your target audience.

Disney’s entire vision has been to make Star Wars it’s vehicle to push social justice ideas and promote inclusiveness and champion women.

But in doing so, they’ve pushed aside the very audiences that have made Star Wars the behemoth it is for 40 years.

The Last Jedi was the last straw. Rose Ticos stupidity and cringeworthy dialogue was enough to make me never want to watch the film again.

I'll never watch The Last Jedi again either. Absolute garbage. Once was one time too many.

Good to see people finally accepting that this film is crap. Can remember getting a lot of stick when it came out and I said it was terrible. Some people just didn't want to hear it.

Solo so low?! I liked it.

AotC/TLJ the least enjoyable for me

TLJ wasn't just a terrible movie with terrible characters, it destroyed the entire lore of Star Wars.

Luke to his father, who has fully embraced the dark side and had killed thousands of people. "I know there is still good in you".

Luke to his nephew, who was being strongly influenced by Snoke, and was under severe threat of turning to the dark side. KILL KILL KILL.

And then there was the Yoda lightning, stupid having a force ghost interact with the real world, why couldn't Yoda have stopped Palpatine when he became a force ghost?

And then the rest of the awful things: lightsaber chuck, space Leia, Rose Tico, Mary Sue part 2, Admiral Gender Studies. Good grief

I liked Solo as well. Thought it was way better than Last Jedi.

As much as I've hated the new sequels that Disney have done I've really enjoyed their spinoff movies so far. They're definitely getting those right in my opinion anyway.

If they were always gonna feck up the Skywalker saga and destroy the original characters they should have just done something different from the start

Anyone heard rumours of Dave Filoni directing a few episodes of John Favereaus Live Action Star Wars TV show....
It's started filming.. I wonder if this is his audition for, bigger things perhaps.

Problem is they had no plan outlined for this new trilogy when they started. They've essentially just been making it up as they go along movie by movie which is criminal and was never going to work.

If George Lucas had entirely made up the original trilogy as he went along then it probably would have been crap as well. Instead he had a plan and a story arc all worked out from the beginning, albeit one where he might have tweaked things as he went along.

I do find that shocking. Thats taking your audience for granted. The only thing that looks planned was, to kill off the original trio. Maybe Leia dies in Ep 9.

I've seen it a total of 8 times now, twice last month and after around 5 viewings my opinion has solidified. It still has some scenes I could watch all day but there is a lot I could fast forward.
