Hugely underwhelming. The only moment in this final trailer that evoked some sort of emotion was the score and Leia's voice at the end. Fortunately, they haven't really showed much in terms of plot elements but the lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo, Poe and Finn on some mini adventure, the emperors presence, it all failed to land with me. Was that C3PO scene intended to be some sort of nostalgic moment because I felt nothing. Bringing the emperor back is still something that I am not happy about but in my mind, these movies are simply part of an alternate universe and I will go and watch this for the music and space battles, which usually tend to deliver in star wars.

The threepio thing, when you recall his big red eyes in the previous trailer, and then some droid working at the back of his head almost looks as though he has been reprogrammed or rebooted. As if red eye threepio wasn't him, and now they've managed to get him back.
The hairs on my ar$e definitely stood on end with the various scenes in the destroyed death star and with the star destroyers seemingly rising from the sea.
So we see Leia and Rey in the jungle,. Rey doing some training (leia as the instructor I suppose), Kylo running off on some sort of angry evil mission, useless characters on the sandy planet, Rey searching the death star like she did the star destroyer in TFA, Kylo also ending up there. I suppose thats where we find the Emperor, either in spirit, or more likely force vision (maybe thats where evil looking Rey comes from) big lightsabre fight, big space battle. All jedi are now dead, all sith are now dead, all skywalkers are now dead, the end.
Not really gonna take much from the trailer, think I was about excited for TLJ than I ever had been for a film & left the cinema feeling flatter than I ever had after watching something in the cinema.
Were some good shots, seems like they're giving a lot away in terms of them teaming up and threepio getting the chop, but you know it will all be smoke and mirrors anyway so it doesn't matter.
At this point I think they should just make it nonsensical and cram in as many characters as they can. I wanna see ghost Anakin run over the Emperor with his podracer then go and have dinner with Ahsoka

Given that it’s the last of 9 films, it’s inevitable that the Emperor will be killed.
But what will that do to the Emperors legacy ?
The sinister and plotting Senator from the prequels.
The evil drip feed of shadow in the OT.
And now popping up as a cameo in the final film of the sequels only to be slain following 35 years of rest ? That makes him look stupid.
I have a bad feeling about this.
The Emperor was already killed in Return of the Jedi. They've only brought him back in Episode 9 out of sheer desperation because of how bad Last Jedi was and how much of a corner that movie left them in. We know that bringing back Palpatine wasn't part of the plan all along either because they've never had a plan for this trilogy and have just been winging it all along.
I've never before hoped that a movie flops at the cinema but what Disney have done with this new trilogy is unforgivable in my opinion and if anyone goes to the cinema to watch this then you are basically giving your consent and approval for this trilogy and for Disney to make more rubbish like this. I certainly won't be.

I don't agree with the gender comment (in any sense) but I do agree these new films are for kids or the next generation of SW fans.
I realised that after TLJ, I was talking to a good friend about the film and complaining about how terrible it was. His 10 year old was there and absolutely loved both of the new films.
I think they've tried to appease the older fans (unsuccessfully) by bringing back the characters we loved from the OT but ultimately this is about disney creating a new fan base to sell to.

Interesting guesswork. This was written a month ago. He talks about the dagger that we only see in this latest trailer. He talks about the emperor being supported by some sort of mechanical arm which also fits with this new trailer.
