Arteta deal DEAD?!

Apparently final bid rejected and arsenal are going for benayoun.

Yeah, I heard that too. We're apparently going all out to get Benayoun now. Wenger is truly pathetic.

Why not get both? Arteta + Benayoun = 65% of Fabregas.

I didn't know it was Benayoun OR Arteta!! If we aren't going to get Arteta it's a shame because he's pretty good, but we can find better players than Benayoun, surely? He isn't even really a playmaker! What happened to that bloke from Leverkusen? Augusto?

Arsenal better up the bid for arteta, still time for transfer to happen.

Loan deal for Benayoun. Can't really go wrong with that.

Would hope that means we go for one other.

Loan deal better than a permanent, we need to go all out for proper midfielder!

Thank god it's a loan deal

If after an entire transfer window our plan to replace Fabregas is scrabbling around for Benayoun (Benayoun !!!) then I have to finally accept that Wenger cannot do it any more

It's not dead, talks are apparently still ongoing but as Craig Slater said Everton like to get value for money and we dont exactly like to pay over the odds

Slater also said £10 million will be enough.

Benayoun + Arteta = a good short term solution.

Maybe we can get Martin, Goetze or Hazard next season.

given Arteta's age it would seem Wenger as one of those lined up in the future, possibly next season. Hopefully anyway!

I think you are making too much of Arteta's age - at 29 he could be good for at least 3 seasons. It is not his age, it is his injury record I worry about - but if it is a choice between Arteta and nobody then I would grab your arm off for him !

Anyway, it seems irrelevant now, ArsenalMania is also reporting the Arteta deal is dead
