All the leaks are false as proven by the 'leaked' titles

Star Wars 8 is probably the most well protected and secure film in history

The only leaks that are basically guaranteed to be true is that Kylo Ren goes to Och Tu (Adam Driver went with Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill to film in Ireland) and that Snoke is being filmed as an 8 foot puppet

The rest is BS or speculation

Also on the Rey obviously being Luke's daughter thing yes of course it would be obvious and not a surprise, but so would Rey being related to Obi Wan or Han Solo at this point. No single relation will shock anyone

That's why what I think what they will do is reveal that Luke is Rey's father and the audience will go 'meh' and then reveal further down the line in the film that Rey is also the granddaughter of Obi Waan Kenobi and then the audience will go 'what? She's related to both?'

I think that the only way to shock people these days is have more than one unexpected thing. Like in the walking dead premiere this season, the shock factor of killing Glen only came because he had already killed Abraham before

Maybe Obers but still, of all the non-surprising options then Luke would be not only the least surprising but also thoroughly unoriginal.

Personally I've always liked the Obi-Wan character so would like to see a Kenobi in the new films.

And I think there are still ways to shock. Palpatine's grand-daughter would be a bit of a shocker!

And I hope you're right re-plot leak because I'd hate it to be what I heard.

I'd be annoyed if Rey is Lukes daughter.
Jedis are not allowed to breed. If he's true to his belief, Rey can't and shouldn't be his daughter.
Otherwise he isn't a true Jedi if he's been fiddling in someones puun

Did the Jedi not allowed to breed thing really matter after order 66? I'm sure the Jedi would have taken whatever that could get including the offspring of current Jedi

If she's another Anakin born of the force, I might walk out of the cinema. One nausiating explanation of midi-cloriants (however that's spelt) was bad enough. I hope they leave that right there in episode 1.

I just hope the story is more original this time. Honestly, I don't care who Rey's parents are. I found it obnoxious of JJ to keep it a secret for no reason...just so that they can go "ta-daaa!!" in Episode 8.

I think there's every chance they didn't know where they wanted the story to go when they wrote TFA script. Or at the very least had a number of different options available and didn't want to commit to a direction.

They may well have wanted to see how the character and screen chemistry landed with audiences before deciding where to takes Rey's character.

It made no sense. Fine for a fan made, but a major studio would never put out something so average.
