I said at the end of watching episode 7 that it set up the story nicely going forward, that trailer confirmed it for me.

In the OT you had an overriding power in the Empire with the rebels having to overcome all the odds. In the prequels you had the Senate and the Jedi Council with one or two Sith having to overcome all the odds.

Now we finally have a level playing field in Star Wars. It's like a game of chess between Snoke and Luke with Rey and Kylo as the main pieces and neither really knowing their place.

Really excited for the film

Hope they put all this Jedi will end and redefining the force on the back burner. I want character development, exciting storylines, unpredictablility. Not ripping up George Lucas' legacy

I won't be surprised to see the cyclical nature of the skywalker saga play out with this being a very 'empire' movie. Rey trained to be a jedi, leaves the training too soon, captured and tortured by Snoke with Finn and Poe having to come to the rescue in IX and Kylo seeking some sort of redemption.

To be fair, it was George’s idea to show that the Jedi were flawed.

As for the Force, remember it was George that introduced midichlorians and also gave us Qui Gon who took force meditation to a different level. It’s always been a bit of an unknown.

You might say keep it like that but I think it’s important to have delved deeper into the prophecies.

After all, it was Yoda who said ‘misread, the prophecy could have been’ or something like that.

I think they’re going to play on the idea that Kylo or Rey are the chosen ones.

God I hope Kylo or Rey aren't chosen ones. It's stupid. Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one who fulfilled the prophecy of destroying the Sith.

A much better story development would be the idea that a dark side prophecy was created to counter the light side prophecy which could have something to do with Rey?

That evidence being? I’d heard it suggested because of the stabbing with a lightsaber but that’s about as far as I’d heard anyone go.

I’m going to break from the consensus and say I was mildly disappointed with the trailer. Felt a little bit too like misdirection to me. Perhaps I’m wrong and what we saw is what we’ll actually see, but to me it felt like muddying the water.

Also expected more of Luke in the trailer. But then again Han barely featured in the FA trailer and he played a major role.
