I think Disney would be stupid to kill off Luke Skywalker.

Especially since Han is gone and from what Kathleen Kennedy said, there are no plans to digitally create Pricess Leia following the passing of Carrir Fisher.

Imagine after their first trilogy since buying the rights from George that they killed off all 3 of the big hitters.

I don't think people will be too happy about that.

I'm actually hoping deep down that Luke is still the main attraction and that Rey is they key to bring him back into the light or his prime.

The third installment should see him return at the finale with his green lightsaber to win the day.

If you go back to pre-production of Episode 7, it was JJ and Kathleen that said the reason they brought it back is because they wanted to ask the question 'who is Luke Skywalker'?

I'm hoping they stick to it.

Yeah, I though it was very good. The series is doing a great job in linking the Clone Wars to the cinematic universe. Was great to see Bo katan return and continue the story of Mandalore from CW.

Yeah, its a monster of a tv show. over 100 episodes and so many story lines. Some of it is definitely crap, but there are some of the stories that are excellent. But being the unashamed fanboy that I am, 100+ shows exploring the Clone Wars, subsequently being linked into Rebels which ultimately lands us at Rogue One is absolutely a winner in my book.

She's too powerful to be a Kenobi though that's the problem

My gut instict says she is a Palpatine but not his daughter or granddaughter. In the new canon books Palpatine tries to do cloning experiments while Emperor, and we all know he's fascinated by creating life. The theory basically goes Palpatine was trying to make a clone of himself so extracted some of his DNA however was never able to complete his experiments as Vader killed him.

Along comes Snoke 10 years later, finds Palpatine's DNA and manages to create Rey out of it and then hide her on Jakku feeding her lies until she is old enough to serve whatever purpose he feels she has.

It's feeds into the Palpatine scream when Rey appears in the trailer, the "Fulfill your.... destiny!" from Snoke and Luke saying he has only seen her power once before

She definitely isn't Luke's daughter. The plot they are going down there is no way, plus it's far too obvious.

I was a fan of the Kenobi link for a long time but I think Rey is just too naturally gifted in the force. Not that Obi Wan isn't but he isn't Yoda, Palpatine, Vader top tier imo

The Palpatine/Rey connection would prove too difficult and complicated to pull off in my opinion because Palpatine was such an obscure figure. A Kenobi link could be easily explained as we know he spent 10+ years on Tatooine and he is a prevalent character in the Star Wars movies.

Palpatine isn't that obscure. Pretty much his whole life has been explained (I'd argue more than Obi Wan).

Never fit in with his family, met Plagieus, murdered his family, learnt the dark side, trained Maul, betrayed Plageuis, became Chancellor of the Republic, betrayed Dooku, manipulated and turned Anakin, order 66, the emperor, dead.

That is basically his whole life. What is so obscure?

Not necessarily. It might be something that make the audience go "what?!?" and not really explained in the movie to encourage fans to read the books and watch spin off films

For me she is either Leia or Lukes kid - most likely the former and thus the brother of Ren. It will turn into a story of sibling rivalry that ends with them united.
