It’ll be something they can explain in 5/10 mins of film time. So rule out of these long winded theories
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not necessarily. It might be something that make the audience go "what?!?" and not really explained in the movie to encourage fans to read the books and watch spin off films
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rey is a major character it will have to be explained in the main films.

Not going to say she’s a clone but to find out go read the books is it

Maybe she was the dirty little secret after Luke and Leia finally gave in to their burgeoning feelings?

Exactly. The explanation will have to be solely from the movies, books and comics are too niche market to be used.

A spin off movie then

Wouldn't put it past disney

For me she is either Leia or Lukes kid - most likely the former and thus the brother of Ren. It will turn into a story of sibling rivalry that ends with them united.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd rule Leia out as a mother. I can't imagine them abandoning their only daughter on some god forsaken planet. Plus both Han and Leia meet Rey and neither give any indication of knowing who she is. UNLESS, Leia was cheating on Han.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They wouldn't "abandoned her" to protect her?
Would you recognise an adult who you hadn't seen since she was a small child? Plus, again to protect her, even if they did recognise her they would keep her identity secret. There were also a lot of things that suggested they do know who she is.

He did practice using the force though during his years in the wilderness. He practiced how to do that disappearing act in the heat of the battle as he showed against Darth Vader in Episode IV. That particular Jedi Skill was known as 'Özil'.

I like this theory also:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting but I struggle to believe that the parents of this powerful new hero will be a couple of randoms from Luke’s academy.

I do like the Palpatine theory and there’s a nice contrast to the original films whereby the heroes family are now the baddies and the evil overlord now provides the hero. Just can’t see it being some cloning experiment. Don’t know why, just feels odd for the hero to be a lab experiment!

If I had to bet, I’d still bet on a Kenobi. Didn’t I read that JJ made a pointed comment that Rey’s parent did not appear in TFA. Ok, doesn’t mean we didn’t hear them though. And they did bring Ewan McGregor in to record one line of dialogue!

Do you know how Anakin was created? The main character in the entire Star Wars franchise?

Indeed and I think it’s fair to say that midiclorian (or however you spell it) explanation on TPM has been ridiculed enough for them not to want to go there again! Seriously, people ripped the pizz over that immaculate conception!

Of course cloning is a possible storyline,!I just personally think it’s unlikely.

Rebels was pretty good again last night. They traveled to Yavin IV to meet up with this newly organsiing group of rebel cells.

Wedge featured a bit, the Ghost's crew were sent on a mission by Mon Mothma, and Saw Gurerro stuck his big sleepy eye in where it wasn't wanted.

All hurtling toward a conclusion, albeit with a 2 month winter break.

Always found the cloning saga in SW to be thematically out of place with the SWuniverse.

Finally finished The Clone Wars.

Started off a bit kiddish but really become a excellent watch.

Obviously lots of filler but also lots to tie to the films.

Glad i watched it

Yeah, it's really quite good isn't it. Granted there's a lot of weak episodes, but some of the story arcs are excellent, including the save/nightsisters stories, the reintroduction of Maul and the darksabre, Saw Guererra. Lots of great stuff in there.

Now off to Rebels.....

I kinda watched them concurrently and then had to go back and revisit some of the CW staories to put Rebels into context again, such as Ashoka vs Vader, the balcksabre and then some of the Capt Rex stuff.

have you seen the latest theory on Capt Rex?

Who's that old guy next to han?
