Firstly, there doesn't seem to be many world class players around these days apart from the odd player or ageing players of the past.

For example when i would turn on the test match between India & the WI in the WI there was no1 there & i can see why so many people think it's so boring!

I love the ashes because it's full of good cricket & packed crowds, i just wish it was like that all over the world.

if you list all the players that you think are currently 'world class' from each team, i don't think you'd have too many names.

"You can see frorm the boards today. It was littered with them during the England\India series.......and now their own team plays..they lose interest. "

It's sad to be honest.

that was the same reaction i had... and people said ohh because india lost thats why I am saying that teams are getting crapper...... but I have to say one thing..... the asian teams are all losing.... well to make this true pakistan has to lose to zimbabwe, but just see how asian teams are playing... srilanka are known to pile up runs in their own yard and it has backfired at them? dont be suprised if india lose to 5-0 to england....

What's happened to cricket?

people wanna play t20 more.... easy and you get lots of money..... you dont need technique, only thing you need is a bit of athlesicm and be able to swing the bat.... the rest is hit or miss.... even if you get out 0 no will question your batting abilities.......

20/20 is similar to 5 aside football.. plenty of goals and nothing to it..

watched it, and their batting looked solid, albeit on a fairly flat pitch at bulawayo.

Lack of test experience showed with the dismissals of sibinda and taibu - both rash shots after good starts.

masakadza and the captain brenden taylor out for low scores following their centuries agianst bangladesh in the last test, both got with good balls by saeed ajmal.

opener mawayo has been the story of the day, batting it out making 82 of 273 balls, and with fairly solid support from craig ervine, not out on 38, although a tad lucky to get away with some poor reading of ajmal's doosra on multiple occaisions, there is still more to come from this pair i think.

beyond this there is a fairly long tale, but greg lamb in next can certainly bat, having made 5 first class hundreds at an average of 32, and ray price is no pushover at number 8. if zimbabwe bat weel, i can see them getting to 400, but bowling pakistan out on this pitch will be a struggle unless it starts giving some turn to ray price, as it has given nothing to the seamers so far.

my prediction - a draw, and a very respectable return to test cricket for zimbabwe

you never with pakistan cricket..... There batting is a big let down to their good bowling.... A collapse here for them means zimbabwe on the drivers seat. But a draw could well be the result

Guys,

I think some of the comments about pakistan fans is abit harsh to be honest, there may well be many reasons why some pakistan fans havent commented:

1) Eid, people are out and about (I certainly have been)
2) no-one showing this game in the uk, not many can follow it
3) zimbabwe vs pakistan reserves is hardly a cracker, and isnt going to get a 1000 comments thread, lets be honest.
4) expectations - not sure what im expecting as a pak fan let alone the neutrals.... 5/11 pak team unheard of, many making comebacks after a lenghty period out - misbah, younis and taufeeqs in and out so all is up in the air.........................

Been following it on cricinfo, and one would assume that the likes of misbah, younis and akmals will see this game out to a victory (need the tail out cheap for that to happen tho) or a draw at least..... if zims do win, fair play to them but i dont think it would be the "shock of the century" considering newbie pakistans atttack and overall team.......

For me the real test for pakistan will come when they are at full strengh vs sri lanka in october and vs england in January and then India late march/april.... expect more involvment during these series......

Neon - not true that pak fans are more bothered about india mate... no pak fans commented on your defeat yesterday did we? we commented on test games more because of some (not all) indian fans arrogance of we are the best/unbeatable/will show england and soo on attitude!!

i think we should all be tolerant of a certain amount of wumming between ourselves and our fiercest rival fans, because i think it's fair to say we all do it to some extent.

i know i have we the convic... sorry australians wearing my cricket hat, and with the scousers wearing my football hat.

be fair, neon is far less of a pishh talker than redindian or indiasox.

you can have a decent conversation on here with neon, you can't with the other two i mentioned.

Agreed jezzer, but there is a diffrence between wumming and pure stupidity and unforunatley neon sometimes falls in the category of the latter...... comments like……. Worse thing about it is, when ENgland played India, there were more Pakistan fans here, rather than when their own team plays!! Kind of sums them up really

Does this mean neon wasn’t a proper indian fan when india played west indies in july?? He was commenting on liverpool on a regular basis around the time, but no articles on india or any involvement in the official match threads as highlighted above??? He’s a funny guy tho, I’ll give him that……………. The guy is just clueless…

Regards to game…… zims done well on day 1…. Pakistan will need to wrap up the innings for 300-320 to have a realistic chance of attempting a victory…
