not really, the bowlers for the most part have been ok, its the batsmen that have let us down

Mission impossible wasn't to be but nice to end on a high with a win. So many what ifs to ponder!

Got selection wrong in the first 5 games, realized after 2 decades that Malik is not good enough and when we got the combination right like Afridi instead of Hasan,Malik instead of Haris to be the water guy, we got the results right.

Easily ahead of Nzl and England in the world cup, got team combination wrong in the first 5 games like playing Malik and Hasan instead of Haris and Shaheen. Had we got combo right, would have pulverized rest of the world.

I'll be glad to see the back of Malik and Hafeez. Now we need to find some decent openers and a powerful big hitter in the lower middle order.

First is to get sane people on board who do not take 15-20 years to realize players' potential. Second is to get honest and competent people selecting under 11-13,15 and19. Thirdly, make first class cricket the prime base for selection instead of mickey mouse T-20.
I have been to various parts of Pakistan ranging from urban cities to rural, villages and mountaineous region in the north and I can bet my swimwear on this that no one can rival Pakistani talent, we simply need to kick out nepotism, other evils and been nice to India like selection of Malik.

After WC only players guaranteed should be:

Let's be honest we lost 11 games on the bounce and were ranked 7th so it's been a decent world cup.

I'd agree with that kash, I hope Hassan Ali can get back to his form he shown few years ago, maybe him being left out may be the kick up the backside he needed.

Agree with kash except for Sarfaraz , not to sort his fitness. Thats hampering his batting and keeping.

Averaging 54 with the bat and have done reasonable well in England and SouthAfrica where our greatest legend and son in law of India has struggled 20 yrs.

That’s 5/5 wins for me.... what’s all the fuss about ... seriously though given the start we had we did well. We had much better momentum than NZ and I would have fancied our chances against the Aussies in semi, Not to be but we go out with heads held high (ish]

Sad part is we would have achieved more had we got selection right. It was not difficult to exclude Malik because of his record outside Asia. Imagine Haris Sohail been asked to carry drinks in favour of Malik. its a crime, IMO.
We had people in the past who could spot talent easily like they selected Inzamam, Wasim and Waqar not on the basis of domestic record but purely on basis of talent.

Afridi please go to every Pakistan game possible, it seems you are a good luck charm

1. Fakhar, total disaster, no technique, got easily found out. Coaches got a lot of work to do with him.
2. Imam, should work on SR a bit and minor issues with technique may be.
3. Babar
4. Hafeez, should be dropped forever
5. Haris, should be made permanent number 4. Excellent middle order with Babar - needs to lose weight tho.
6. Sarfraz, tricky one. Zero performance but do we have another captain option. Could be removed from captain from ODIs.
7. Imad, excellent form.
8. Shadab, disappointing for his standards so far
9. Wahab, absolute fighter, came out great
10. Hassan Ali, should be dropped, sent to domestic to earn his spot
11. Amir
12. Shaheen, one for the future, impressive.
13. Malik, Should be dropped forever including T20
14. Asif, could be dropped or work on him more
15. Husnain, got exposure but should be sent to domestic to earn his spot .

17. Inzi. Should be changed.
18. Need a good fielding coach

Harris Sohail should be in the team. We should get rid of Sarfraz. Shadab needs to work on his bowling. Really poor.

Don’t think shadab has been poor at all to be honest. He’s set himself high standards and hasn’t come back as well as he could have after injury but still done well in comparison.....

9 wickets in 6 games (didn't bowl in 7th) @ 35.6 is pretty decent. Chahal has 11 wkts @ 34.5, Tahir 10 wkts @ 31.5, Rashid 6 wkts @ 69.3. Let’s give the young lad some credit...

Haris had a good innings against a poor SA. Did ok against NZ when he should have batted quicker. Still that SA innings was a one off. He is not a big hitter and he is a woeful fielder. Probably will stick with him but need to see more from him.

Spot on been a poor world cup for leg spin. Next time in India he will into his own. Need to work out who the backup is which isnt Yasir..
