I'm not sure enough is know about it yet, it sounds like a considerable leap in terms of processing power, which is the enabler for more than just better graphics.

Depends if you have a high end pc already really and what you want.

Scorpio is still some 18 months away, the specs look impressive now, when it launches not so much, MS have to do something though, Xone has not competed well this gen and will only fall further behind,

The scorpio will give xbox access to VR (oculus) but with all xbox games coming to PC, xbox becomes less attractive.

As far as the S, it's smaller with an in built power brick, basically what the PS4 is now, except it will support 4k vide, if you are in the market for an xone the S is the one to buy, but with the Scorpio on it's way why bother.

Well according to m $ its the one you get if you dont have a 4k tv.

If anything the one with most question marks is the scorpio itself, as what it will offer and what it will cost as honestly what it is promising imo would have it at least $600.

Sony got it spot on "the neo exists but we aint talking about it" and jt worked perfectly. The S would have done it for m $, sticking the Scorpio at the end just confused the fook out of everybody and made the s obsolete within an hour.

To a point I agree Simon, but The xone is falling further and further behind the PS4, MS hgas to do something to keep the xone relevant.

Scorpio specs in 18 months time will not look as impressive, but MS can't carry on with the xone the way it's performing.

I think the point was more they are focussing on Xbox live and that ecosystem as a whole rather than looking to up hardware numbers. That was the interview I saw anyway.

No doubt that is it Melton. I think literally 1 day someone at m $ woke up and said "sheet, why have we been wasting time building Xboxes?".

Because im in the minority of people who have a gaming rig and console though the xbox has now become null - ive generally always bought every system in a generation. But this time after e3 i was up for buying a slim, but then the "on windows" thing kept on coming up and I was like hmmmmm $400 buys me a new gpu and something else on my PC as well as cheaper games why do I buy an Xbox, and it does seem microsoft have decided software is the way forward.

My guess is Scorpio is basically a branded steam machine and will cost $600- $700. It may even be that mobo i saw floating around the net the other day that has a 1070 attached to it which sounds right for what they want (oculus and 4k gaming). That in 18 months should be much cheaper to produce when the next next gen of gpus is out.

Agree with all of that Simon, for you, the hardware announcements are neither here nor there.
