I think Chiellini and Kane's response to their views on Brexit kind of explain why some are probably better than others at adapting to life away from home.
Chiellini
“The main concern is a domino effect. But I don’t think the simple UK exit can change the equilibrium of the whole European economy – I don’t think the discontent should lead to disintegration.”
Kane
“I’ve not really thought about it. I don’t think any of us have.”
It's depressing but not remotely surprising how f-cking dumb English players are and maybe why they struggle to deal with international tournaments away from their nightclubs and homes.

I don't think that has any correlation to how intelligent a person is not do I think it's relevant to how they perform at int tournaments tbh
Don't think being dumb really matters, to be honest.
I think on average a more intelligent person with a better grasp of life outside of their multimillion pound football lives will more likely be able to adapt to life away from home better. I'd imagine someone like Chiellini sees the Euros as a great life experience and is aware and interested in his surrounds where as someone like Kane is just worried whether his FIFA will have the latest updates.

I think that's a load of cobblers but each to their own.
Nani is a good player.
Unfortunately towards the end of his days at UTD people were looking for a fall guy to take the blame off Rooney.
He captained his side to victory in a major championship today
What's rooney done again?
We sold the wrong player
Darren
I think in general terms it can. Historically English players have complained in tournaments of being bored. They're not used to not having their home comforts around them and struggle to occupy themselves otherwise. You listen to a English footballer give an interview after a game and they struggle to put 2 words together, you then listen to foreign player being interviews by the English media and their grasp of English is spotless and they seem genuinely interested and engaging.
I'm generalising and maybe it's just an English thing but I just get the sense that English player are so f-cking useless and that has an effect on their ability in tournaments because in the main they seem so uncomfortable out of their comfort zone.
A great tournament from Nani. The new Karel Poborsky

Pogba is a great attacking midfielder, superb one touch passing. Deschamps completely wasted Pogba playing him so deep. if you watch the semi final, again playing deep, the only real time Pogba had chance to get forward he created the chance for Griezmann. This is what he does, he creates openings with off the cuff moves and can keep play moving up front.
I trust Mourinho will be buying him as creative attacking force and will give him support behind. He's certainly still raw though but huge potential.

OK may get some grief from some quarters bug the only patriotism shown in england matches is the misplaced one from the hooligans.
I could have played sport at a professional level, but for injury. Sure it wasn't football but I came into contact with footballers just starting out and playing for england wasn't about the shirt and the country but more about personal profile.
For WC players like Ronaldo its all about national pride.

Kane was poor at the under 21 Euros last year as well.
Pogba was shiiiiiit in this tournament. He's still an excellent footballer, though. I'm not going to judge a player's worth at club level based on a tournament where Joe Allen has outshone the likes of Busquets, Fabregas, Iniesta, Pogba and
And Martial.

Ronaldo's personal profile makes him the player he is, or strives to be, doesn't it?
pogbs is average in a midfield 2
he needs the attacking freedom that comes with playing in a midfield 3
yet I see people defending spending £100mil to sign a player who is bang on average in the position we want him for.
I know the conversation has moved on a bit from the OP but there's been some absolute sh*te about Nani on this thread.
He literally had one good season out of the seven he was with us, but now he's done well in the Portuguese and Turkish league and we were wrong to sell him because he was such a top player?
Signing for Valencia is a bit like playing for Stoke (who were linked with him) or Swansea or someone, it's not a big deal or "proof" that we should of kept him.

Talent wise h has it all but as Rio said tonight Nani can't make the right decisions enough. He had enough chances at United but at times SAF did seem to single him out. Always said he would be useful centrally but never had that chance at United. I like him just behind a big strong CF running onto things. Anyhow that ship has sailed ages ago.
Pogo very disappointing and I don't ever see him being a player that runs and dominates a game despite what our resident Juve fan thinks.
Serie A is bang average and Juve are far ahead of the others. Matuidi makes more sense as a signing.
How can u say nani was poor when he helped get you a CL trophy, trophies and more trophies.
8 years at Utd is quite good for a foreigner..
and Rio is a anyway so who cares what he thinks
Nani is way better than lingard (hull city standard), young and repay. They should have all been kicked out before he was.

we were wrong to sell him before shipping out the utter garbage Young, Valencia and play utter trash like Lingard who have zero talent.

Zero talent?
Please fack off and support Barca full time
United we win, I assume you took no pleasure in the cup final winning goal, that artless hoof which required zero talent.
