I think it’s a little unfair to call those who voted Leave racist, as I know many (normal) people who just wanted out.

However when you have large sections of the press and media spouting utter lies about migrants for years (IPSO have had a field day - Express, S*n and Mail the main offenders) some of it has stuck. Millions of people were prepared to be poorer just to protect the UK from the ‘hoards’

I also don’t agree with those campaigning to prevent Brexit as I am a firm believer in democracy. The irony is that the UK will undoubtly be less democratic when it does leave the EU.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Politicians were about 5 years too late to recognise the negative impacts of the high immigration and instead branded everyone racist. That is exactly what has led to the rise of the far right. Even now you get token gestures from Labour about it, and Cameron's failed promises to bring it down to 100k. people want to blame the plebs instead of the politicians that screwed them. Labour have no chance of getting elected unless they speak on the same level as the people on immigration so the liberals can keep moaning about racism but unless they wake up they'll be stuck with right wing governments.

I think it’s fair to say the EU has its problems. Despite the utopia it was made out to be by Remain. But inequality/division was not created by the EU. It has been created by social and financial disparity.

The UK leaving the EU will do nothing to build bridges between migrants, (both EU and non-EU) living and working in the UK.

75% of CEO's from the leading companies in the UK have thought about moving headquarters to a foreign country after brexit. I read that on Linked in this morning.

How are 20 year olds gonna afford a house now unless they are left a massive inheritance, how can kids from poor backgrounds afford further education? The older generation are honestly a cancer.

.......
Yes, those ww2 surviving planks had it easy all their lives and now they want more
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair to him, i think your way off their. anyone during the ww2 days will not be around for long. The issue is the generation after, they did not pay for the war, had everything there way and now stuck it too the generation below them. We are not talking about the ww2 gen we are talking about the one after the people who are about 50s. not 65 and upwards. The generation below were truely selfish

Kids already are paying for it.

Again all these problems were caused while we were in the EU. inequality is rising all across Europe and the middle class is shrinking. time for change
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you honestly see it changing post exit though?

Will young professionals be able to afford to buy? Will the rental market become more affordable? Will the status quo regarding further education change?

The things listed above weren't created as a result of being in The EU. They were created as a result of our domestic politics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No idea if it will change but it definitely wouldn't have in the EU. Some EU politician was talking about an EU army last week though... something that was flat out denied by Cameron in the run up to the referendum. The EU doesn't want to change and will continue down it's failed path, we got out at the right time.

Agree.

Much like Trump’s assentation in the US, people have become disenfranchised with the political/social/financial landscape.

It was incredible however how much the EU was blamed for UK austerity. When in fact the cuts to housing, welfare etc etc were brought about by consecutive UK governments. And had absolutely nothing to do with the EU.

Point being that the things you lay at the door of The EU, housing and uni education, are a result of the failings of successive governments and not The EU themselves.

I would imagine all those brave men who laid down their lives in world war 1 and 2 are thinking in their graves why did i bother saving my country for such an ungrateful horrible rude selfish lazy bunch of caaaaaaants
---------------------------------------------------------------
Could they also be thinking that ' I travelled to other countries and gave my life to save people whose lives were being put at risk by war and to stop the slaughter of children and the decimation of their countries, and these horrible rude selfish lazy bunch of caaaaaaants wont even let them in'!?

Just another opinion of course as you are surmising what the dead are thinking and that is too stupid to even argue against!

What exactly does Britain offer worth trading that other countries won't ?

KoemanYouBlues

When (as I noted previously) businesses (especially in financial services) have already left, how can you now claim it hasn’t happened??

Lloyd’s insurance for example informed Ch4 news that they already had contingency plans (one of many) in place when Cameron announced there would be a referendum. One of which was (the cheaper option) to move operations into the EU.

As without access to the single market (losing passporting) they could not operate/trade in Europe.

Given financial services account for around three quarters of the UK economy how do you think things will now pan out?
