Kyrie to New Orleans. Wild guess and makes our division even tougher.

Verrrrry interesting. Can't believe celtics let thomas go

I can't help but think the Cavs got the better end of the deal here anyway, crazy the lengths teams are going through just to beat GSW.

I think they have too. Thomas is more likely to distribute the ball than Irving; who likes to play isolation too much. With the Nets first round pick, the Cavs have the opportunity to pick up some talent from the next draft too; which is good news for them considering Lebron's contract is up at the end of the season.

I'm liking the look of the Timberwolves this season too.

What a lateral move for both sides but I still think Irving is better regardless of what playing style they use. Brooklyn's pick is gonna get swapped for a high end player, you watch. Cavs win this deal on that alone.

My bold prediction didn't pay off 😞

I don't really know anymore tbh, bball just gone so crazy these days

I love Pop more than life itself. Absolutely killed it in recent interviews on whats going on in America, such a great all round bloke. Shame that Spurs won't compete this year.

OKC to be GS biggest rivals?

Unless Cleveland really come together.

Rockets look to have strengthened well; think the Pelicans may turn good and so may Boston tbf.

GSW/KD have properly turned basketball on its head.

Thing is other teams have to step up now. Cavs best bet is that GSW just get beat up all year. Twolves got a decent team now, New Orleans, Spurs, Houston and OKC. West is stacked.

Lebron only has Celtics and maybe 76ers if they get it together now with Embiid and Simmons.

For as long as I can remember there has been an issue East weaknesses. Magic and Cavs the first time getting to the finals showing this.

Kind of ruins the sport a bit as the playoffs and reg season is all 'what will happen in the west' + final. Pops non reliance on high draft picks and superstars is a factor.

Wonder if it would make sense to merge leagues which would arguably make it fairer.

posted on 26/9/17

Do a North/South split instead

I dunno how they could merge it as it is. 82 games, some the day after the last game, would not be able to do the travel.

Mind you teams like the pelicans could easily be in the east rather than the west.

Memphis is pretty east as well.

Now George, Millsap and Butler gone to the West as well ffs.

Look at the table at the bottom ffs

posted on 26/9/17

Why is it that players aren't going to East? Surely it'll make more sense to go there and form a team together.

But OKC will be the biggest that to GSW narrowly followers by Rockets.

There is a theory that superstars attract superstars and the surplus in the West is causing a big-name monopoly almost.

Also apparently (contrary to my theory) there has been more team-based coaches in the East than superstar based which has found to not be sustainable.

I had a look at first picks since 98 and it seems the East dominates that, which I find surprising.

Interestingly since LBJ was picked the Cavs have got first pick 3 times.

melo too.

Be quite amusing if we see the superstar experiment flop ala Argie gold medal olympic team

I just find it annoying cos obviously East coast is closer to us timewise. I sometimes try tune in for matches, especially at weekends and the games are on till like 1.

The west games are on till like 4 am.

But I don't really want to watch Brooklyn vs Orlando

posted on 26/9/17

yeah thats fair enough.

+ my missus lives in the North East & whenever I am over there don't really want to watch the Wizards play Charlotte ffs.

youtube is pretty decent, they do like 10 minute highlight videos. And pack most the plays in.
