Feel sorry for Wade, he puts in the hard yards to qualify 4th and runs into Anderson in the 1st round.

But there are countless tournaments where you see the best again and again and again. Gets very repetitive.

The best tournaments for me are the Worlds, the Open and the Grand Slam. All have a very varied field from the norm.

This is basically the grand final from 10 very competitive qualification tournaments. MvG won 5 I think - if the world number 1 can turn up why can't Barney and Lewis?

All about opinions, I don't like the Prem League or the Grand Slam (group stages) as I prefer knock out to league darts.

The Worlds and the Matchplay are my favourites.

You're right in that Lewis should have tried harder to qualify but at World number 3 he should have a protected place. Also we have no chance of him and MVG meeting which is my highlight of any tournament where it occurs.

Like I say, you have loads of tournaments where players have protected places. It is what keeps them at the top - like Rabbie Thornton - despite underperforming.

Darts is too weighted for the players in the top 8/16. It is a pretty closed shop with so many big money competitions restricted to them - and the order of merit being done on prize money.

This, for me, is a breathe of fresh air - where performances on a more level playing field are rewarded.

Smith v Bunting looks interesting.

After a good start in the PDC I was expecting alot more from Bunting than we've had.

Looked good in his first PDC worlds. Wonder if the PL invite was too early for him and broke his confidence a bit.
Unlucky v Barney if both his Worlds so far, hopefully he can have a good run this season.

I was out and didn't see it, did Wade play well or was Anderson poor? Maybe a bit of both?

Anderson was bad - 77 average.
Wade was pretty ruthless, only had 8 darts at a double hitting six.
Ando only had two darts at a double I think.

For some reason I've always liked Wade and hoped he can conquer his demons. Last I heard he had Bristow in his corner advising him on how to be more ruthless.
